Nestled in 25 acres of private forested land, Firefly is your cozy mountain retreat. You'll have direct access to the VAST trail network, so bring your snowmobiles or bikes for backcountry fun. Entertain or stargaze on the spacious balcony, hike in nature, relax by the firepit, or fish the local ponds. The cozy interior is on the luxurious side of rustic, with quilted covers, fine linens and sumptuous pillows. The common areas have plenty of space to gather for stories or games by the woodstove.

The space

The property offers secure storage for snowmobiles and mountain bikes.

Besides the 3 queen beds, we can make available a luxury queen-sized air mattress to accommodate a slightly larger group.

The combination of the woodstove and balconies make Firefly more appropriate for teens and couples than for small children. Please don't hesitate to ask if you have questions. We will do our best to accommodate you.

Guest access

This entire 3-bedroom, 2 bath recently remodeled cabin in Vermont's breathtaking Northeast Kingdom will be yours for the duration of your stay. The yard is landscaped, a firepit is available, and the trails are well maintained and available for hiking, biking, snowshoeing, and snowmobiling.

Interaction with guests

Firefly Cabin is meticulously maintained by our property managers / hosts extraordinaire and good friends, Chris and Cindy, who live just down the road.

They are well connected with all that's happening in the area and can hook you up with great local guides and rentals for snowmobiling, hiking, skiing and snowshoeing.

They will be available to show you around the property, give instructions on the woodstove and grill, and answer any questions you may have.

Other things to note

During the winter and mud seasons, you will be happiest driving a 4 wheel drive vehicle. The last 3 miles of the trip to Firefly Cabin are a gravel road. The road is well maintained and regularly snow plowed but can get tricky at times with snow and ice conditions.

Our family thoroughly enjoyed our three day stay at Firefly Cabin. The cabin was very spacious for our family of six, yet provided a warm and cozy atmosphere for a beautiful fall weekend away from the city. Tucked away in the midst of trees, we felt as if we were in our own quiet world far from the cares of our real world, and the scenic setting provided a place for us to treasure family time and make sweet memories. We were greeted by lit lanterns and fall decor throughout the immaculately clean cabin, and our host thoughtfully prepared a gift basket for our arrival, complete with many Vermont-specific treats - wine, cheese, coffee, maple syrup, candies, etc. - as well as a pack of crayons and construction paper for our children to enjoy during their stay. We spent our days hiking in the woods, building fires in the fire pit and roasting marshmallows, playing card games at the cabin's large dining room table, and letting our children roam the outdoors freely. We enjoyed our evenings by the warm wood stove and baked cookies and drank apple cider in the cabin. The kitchen was recently updated and was extremely well-stocked with all of the necessary cooking items (even better than my personal home kitchen), which made it easy for us to eat all of our meals there at the cabin. The convenient washer and dryer in the basement meant that we were able to stay on top of laundry while there and didn't have to return home to a mountain of dirty clothes. We had such a lovely visit and would love to return in the future!

We had a wonderful stay at Tina's home - clean, spacious yet cozy and warm, secluded yet not far from nearby attractions like skiing, snowmobiling, snow-shoeing, etc. Tina was extremely responsive and able to accommodate our arrival/departure schedule, and prepared the home with a welcome basket and fully-stocked fridge. Look forward to coming back in the future to enjoy the comfortable home and wonderful nature that surrounds it!

I work as a management consultant in the concrete and glass jungles of Houston, Texas. I love my city, my work, and my people, but I need wild spaces and alone time to remember who I am. Some families have nice cars. My family travels...everywhere we can and every chance we get. …
