Great location
100% of recent guests gave the location a 5-star rating.
We are a private, small (10 acre) horse farm located just outside the city limits of Lexington. We own three pleasure/competition horses and have a tennis court. It is a very convenient location: close to restaurants and shopping yet with a rural feel and wonderful views. Your room has a separate entrance and all the amenities of a nice hotel room. But we also offer a personal touch if you have any requests, including advice on restaurants, sight-seeing, or visiting our horses.

The space
This is a private suite, with an attached full bath and a walk-in closet containing a beverage and snack center (microwave, frig and Keurig coffeemaker), and a place to hang clothes. We have decorated in an eclectic manner with antiques, modern and whimsical touches added together to make a fun space to stay in.

Guest access
This is one bedroom and attached bath with private entrance. If you need to do laundry, please let us know and you can use our washer/dryer. You are also welcome to walk around the yard, sit on the patio, and visit the horses (although please do not go in with the horses.) We provide carrots in your frig to feed them. (During the day, they are often in the back field, so you may have to visit in the evening.)

Other things to note
This unit is not appropriate for children because of the horses. As for infants, we do not have baby equipment, so please bring what you will need. (We don't have grandchildren yet!)
We have motion-sensor lights so there is plenty of visibility if you come and go after dark.

Our neighborhood is rural with all properties being 10 acres or more. There are many horse farms on our road. It is a scenic road, but narrow and winding as country roads are. It represents the best of the Bluegrass in its meandering creeks, large trees and gentle rolling hillsides.

We love to travel and are adventuresome. We try to take public transport whenever possible, and whereever we travel we like to learn more about how the residents live... especially internationally, we don't want to stay in an "American Hotel" with "American food"! We have traveled internationally quite a bit, and get a lot of these opportunities through Eric's university job and research contracts. We love small hotels in foreign countries, and have used Airbnb these as well as in the U.S. and overseas. We own a small farm in Lexington Kentucky and ride our two horses both in competition and pleasure. We also have a small dog and a cat. I am a retired nonprofit CEO and Eric my husband is a faculty member at the University of Kentucky. I still volunteer quite a bit in the equine industry, especially trail organizations.
