My home is close to Rotorua, lakes and thermal sites such as Tikitere. There are 2 nice cafes within a 5min drive. There are extensive gardens to relax in, a stream to sit beside and a hostess who is also an artist and a musician. My place is good for couples and solo adventurers.
Address: 206, Hwy 30 ( to Whakatane) , Rotorua.
Drive 2.06Km along the highway.....look for 206 on the right. Look for sweeping metal driveway leading to bridge. Look for sign Ohuanui Full Moon.

Guest access

The bedroom and bathroom are for the exclusive use of my guests while they are here. The kitchen/ dining area and any of the outdoor spaces are available. The upstairs area is private.

Interaction with guests

I am usually around working on the property or in the Studio. I am very happy to help and engage with my guests but also understand the need for privacy as I require it myself.

The place was great and very clean. the back of the house is also very beautiful with trees and nature as well as a stream running through which is lovely for a morning walk. Jill was very helpful and informative and easy to talk to.

Fantastic home with lots of beautiful areas to explore outside. Easy to get to Rotorua by car and a good starting point for some day trips. Jill is a wonderful resource for local activities and information. Our stay was one of the highlights of our trip!

Jill's place is a rural artistic idyll. She is friendly, informative and welcoming and the room is comfy. Getting own bathroom a big plus. Overall great value and a very special place to stay thank you!

We really enjoyed our stay at Jills. She had great ideas about what to do in Rotorua and had a lot of local knowledge. Jill has the most amazing gardens which we could have happily spent our entire trip there. The place is on a quiet farm setting but a quick and easy drive to the city and right near Hells Gate thermal pools. Jill is friendly and we'd love to visit again.

Jill was delightful and her house a welcome escape from the hustle and bustle. The garden is beautiful and there are even Pukekos running around the adjacent fields. The house is a little tricky to find, and currently not where airbnb will direct you. Ensure you take Jill's instructions via the photos on her listing. Overall a great stay.

Response from Jill:
The house has a grassland forest with rivers, with such a house really enviable. The landlord is very warm, the recommended place is great. Very good stay experience " (This is a (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) translation of the above review) Thanks Yunzhe.

Previously a teacher of visual art, these days I practise more than I preach. Currently enthusiastic about ceramics, I have hosted several pit fires for the local Potters group here at home.
If you come to stay with me, you will see that I am a keen gardener. My property is set in farmland that has been in my family for many years.
I read a lot, both fiction and fact especially if the subject is history. I enjoy taking guided tours at Rotorua's Museum of Art and History and have good local knowledge. I have just begun learning te reo ( Maori language).

Always a singer ( and now ukulele player too!) I really enjoy a glass of wine and jamming with friends.
Reasonably well travelled, I am planning a trip to New York, Canada and Japan for next year.
Although the following are both cliches they more or less capture my approach to life... "seize the day and stop to smell the roses".
