Fall in love with Connemara and its wild landscape as you rest in the Kylemore Hideaway.Nestled in the mountainside with stunning lake, mountain and river views on every side you will feel like you are somewhere special.Listen to the waterfall outside, stroll along the lakeshore or the mountainside.Relax in the comfort of the turf fire in the stove .If you are in need of a real break, this place offers you the space you need to get away from it all, connect with nature and your soul again!

The space
This warm, cosy, modern two bedroomed farm cottage is uniquely set at the foot of the Garraun mountain complex on the shores of Lough Fee with onsite waterfall. Truly experience the beauty and tranquility of Connemara at this hillside cottage with fishing and mountaineering literally on your doorstep. Great wi-fi for anyone who needs to stay connected. Ideally situated on the N59 close to Kylemore Abbey, Connemara National Park, the villages of Letterfrack and Leenane and quiet sandy beaches of Renvyle.

Guest access
The cottage overlooks the fishing lodge once occupied by Oscar Wilde for his fishing getaways. Look for a book in the cottage called Portrait of a Parish to see letters he wrote inviting his friends to come and visit.

A fully equipped kitchen/living room with two comfortable couches, a solid fuel stove as well as oil central heating. Turf supplied for stove. Two double rooms. A large TV with Netflix, radio and wi-fi. Washing machine and separate dryer. Bathroom with bath and separate electric shower.
Coffee maker, though I would recommend going to KABO in Letterfrack for the real deal!
Small BBQ and outdoor seating.
Travel cot and high chair and other children's toys and outdoor wear available on request.

House situated at the end of a 1km long road off the N59 main Clifden to Westport road, 50 miles from Galway city.
Access the lake and the mountain side through the farm gates (remembering to close them after you please).

Other things to note
Really good 99s at the Service Station just down the road!!!

On the a Wild Atlantic Way - nearest beach is Glassilaun beach - take the road on the other side of the lake all the way until you see the Atlantic in front of you and look for a sign post for Scubadive West - it there you will find it. If you miss it, don't worry, the beautiful Lettergesh beach is just another mile along the road.

Owner occasionally uses nearby shed for farm purposes - expect to see baby lambs from 20th April onwards and sheep shearing towards the end of July. Sheep gathering happens a number of times a year with our wonderful collies.

Remember to step outside on a clear night and look up - it’s breathtaking!!

It might be useful to bring boots or wellies if you would like to explore the surrounding lakeside, hills and bogs.

If you expect to arrive late it might be a good idea to bring some food supplies for the morning. There is a small shop and petrol station close by that opens until 6 o clock but the larger Country Store in Letterfrack is about 5 miles away.
