I am simply me, a shack on the cliff by the sea and that’s all I need to be. Sweeping ocean views of Park Beach and Frederick Henry Bay from both the inside and outside of the shack. As your base, no matter which direction you choose to venture, there’s an array of experiences and activities to explore, 20 min to Hobart Airport, 40 min to Hobart, gateway to Richmond, East Coast, Port Arthur and the Tasman Peninsula

The space
Simple, thoughtful and very much loved, full of light, laughter and our love of the sea. Comfy couches, much loved vintage treasures, local art, foraged shells and botanicals from the local area.

Dream
Slow days start and finish in our comfortable pillowtop beds wrapped in beautiful pure French linens. The shacks large master bedroom has stunning ocean views and privacy tinted windows..

Shacklife
Cook, sing, share the past and plan the future. Toast marshmallows around the firepit, laugh, dance, love a lot, talk a lot, dream big and be free. That’s what we do, every time Enjoy Tasmanian seafood, wine, cheese and other delights collected from your adventures. Cook a barbecue on the deck with an ocean breeze and stunning views or plan a meal in the fully equipped kitchen and watch the local surfers catch a wave.

Beachcombers
Wiggle your toes in the sand and explore the local area. Be part of the surfing action, grab a board from the house and head down. Wander around the cliff top walking track and hopefully meet some of our native wildlife. Go left out our gate and walk down to the beach along the clifftop or go right and take the short walk to Spectacle Point Whale Observation Platform. Take a stroll down the local streets to the other side of the point and discover Red Ochre Beach and its delightful old boat sheds.

Tub
Wash your salty hair and sandy toes in the outdoor shower or sit back and relax in the shacks pink tub. Need to bring your togs for this experience, the cliff top track can be used by local beachcombers to access the beach during the day. The tub is not in a private area.

Explore
The shack and local area is a great base for couples, families, business travellers, groups of friends and the solo adventurer!

It’s everything you need, by the sea.

Regards
Glenys and Dave

Dodges Ferry, Tasmania, Australia

Dodges Ferry is a quiet beach side village and a great base to access the many attractions and adventures around the South and South East of Tasmania. Take the 15 minute coastal drive to Dunalley and experience local seafood at the fish market on the canal or local seafood at Bangor Wine and Oyster shed. Head down for a day trip to the Tasman Peninsula, starting at Eaglehawk Neck.

The local village provides a Hill Street grocer, butcher, bakery, bottle shop, tavern, takeaway shop, chemist, Doctors, newsagent, post office and hairdressers. Park Beach Cafe is a must visit, great coffee and food! Look for the blue sign opposite the entry to Park Beach.

Petrol is available at the Hill Street Grocer with 91 or 95 octane fuel. It is a 15 minute drive to Sorell, regarded as the main portal to the Tasman Peninsula and surrounding areas. Sorell has a range of cafes, restaurants, petrol stations, bottle shops and two larger supermarkets, Coles and Woolworths.

No matter what I have or where I am, I always try to make the best use of my circumstances to pursue the things I love, with the people I love. I work full-time and my partner is a shiftworker. We are a blended family with a combination of adult children, teenagers and little ones. The adult children now have their own homes and the other children are fortunate enough to have two homes, most of the time living with their mums and other times hanging out at the beach house with us. We travel solo, as a couple and with our families. Our shack Cliff Top on Park is a combination of new, with a bit of old, definitely beachy and in some places a bit shabby but it all works and we just have to share our love of the sea and our beautiful view xx
