This is a basement space in an old house that is good for folks on short-term detail assignments in the area. Quiet space with shared kitchen upstairs. Perfect space for post docs, interns and other university visitors or for folks visiting Fort Collins for a bit. The bedroom has a door that closes, the living and dining areas in the basement are open floor plan and share entry with the laundry and back storage rooms so that space is not entirely private.

Not pet friendly. You’ll be told to keep your pet locked in your bedroom the whole time because her cat doesn’t get along with other animals. The basement space is very dark, cold, musty, low ceilings, and smells badly as her cat’s litter box is kept downstairs.

Response from Gillian:
Hi Bonnie I am sorry your cat escaped but glad you were able to get it back eventually but highlights why I suggested keeping your cat in your room. The backyard is not escape proof and that is clearly stated in all my early communications as well as on the house rules. It is tough when a cat called "Battle Cat" as yours is named shows up after a long international trip such as you came in on (that would freak out most cats) not to be worried about an elderly cat and that was communicated well in advance. As a cat owner I hope you understand that an elderly cat doesn't stand much of a chance again a young strange cat. I am surprised you were not more responsible in keeping the cat crated in a strange environment but again glad you got it back after it escaped. All previous guests who travel with cats have not had a problem keeping the cat in the room until everyone settles down and gets to know each other!

Gillian's place is located close to old town Fort Collins, with convenient access to public transportation, stores and restaurants. The historic neighborhood is peaceful, safe, and quiet.

Gillian's place is lovely and in walking distance to old town. I planned to stay for a month, but the distance to my work didn't work out. I would have love to stay here longer. She is very welcoming and accommodating with our situation. Highly recommended for your short to long …
