Beautiful street, great room for 1 or 2 guests, with a double bed, private bath, shady front porch, wifi, 5 minutes from downtown, 15 minutes from beach. Great for folks who need a relaxing place to hang out, or want easy access to all the pleasures of the city and the beach.

The space

I am a writer and composer, so your room will be where I do a lot of my work! Right now I am working on a musical, and you will be able to witness the work in progress, if you are interested in music. My home is also filled with books, games and beautiful artifacts from my many travels, so there will lots to keep you interested, even without going out.

Guest access

Guest will be able to use pretty much the whole home while staying here, even have their own guests for a visit. There are lots of areas to gather inside and out, and the fridge and freezer are available for beverages or a fresh fish caught at Tybee!

Interaction with guests

I love to entertain and am happy to share my traveling experience with my "company", but know that many people want to feel free to relax on their own. I am flexible and happy with lots or little interaction, at my guest's convenience. Food is not included in the price, but it is always my pleasure to cook for friends.

Other things to note

Because I am a working teacher and writer, you may run into a student or colleague or friend while you are here. I will be careful about your privacy, but you may find it interesting to meet the varied people who pass through from time to time.

This AirBnB host is truly one of a kind. Over and over, she went above and beyond the call of duty - giving a personalized tour of the historic district on the way home from picking me up from the airport, sharing delicious meals with me and her friends and taking time out to participate in activities that, as it turns out, we both enjoy - such as flea market shopping. Her home is lovely and filled with fabulous treasures. It is truly a reflection of her. I loved her two cats, Eduardo and Thumbelina, and how they came to greet when we came home. The neighbourhood is quiet and is very conveniently located. The bus stop to downtown Savannah is steps from her door. I cannot say enough good things about this AirBnB experience.

Sue was wonderful! So were her two cats, Eddie and Thumbelina. I stayed in the master bedroom which was very nice, with a big private bath. Sue rents out one more room and so there were always two of us in the house along with Sue and the two cats. The big thing that makes Sue's place amazing is her breakfasts! She is an amazing cook and got up early and made me breakfast the first two days. I thought I should return the favor with a smoothie for breakfast (she was getting up so early to make amazing meals just for me) so I made us each one the next day, but it wasn't quite her favorite. :) She always offered tea at night too! Find her place on 36th which turns into Bonaventure. It's a private cul-de-sac called Bent Oaks off Bonaventure. (a bit hard to find if you don't know that).

Sue's house is in a cute, safe neighbourhood outside of downtown Savannah. She was able to accommodate us for an extra night at the beginning of our stay on short notice (thank you!). The smaller guest bedroom is cozy, has a shared bathroom, and sleeps one. The master bedroom has a private bathroom, and a large bed. Sue was a seasoned host - clean sheets, towels, tea at the ready, snacks for hungry travellers, and lots of interesting conversation. Breakfast is included in your stay, and has a gourmet touch. Sharing Sue's space was a unique experience that we enjoyed.

Amazing host, amazing house, amazing breakfast. Close enough to town, but interesting, enough and with great outdoor place to stay put and relax either alone or with Sue and her friends when around. If you are allergic to cats bring antihistamine! It's worth it!!

It's difficult to adequately describe how wonderful my two night experience was in Savannah with Sue as my host. While there she introduced me to several of her very interesting friends and always included me in activities if my schedule permitted. Sue is an accomplished cook who enjoys sharing her creative fare. I made a new friend in Sue and look forward to staying with her again when I'm in Savannah.

Had gr8 time staying at Sue's home. Very close to downtown. The conversation we had with Sue was awesome. She can converse on any topic and we can keep listening to it. Her paintings were Gr8. Foods offered were delicious. Her self-made jewellery collections were beautiful. Learned gud info on travelling and good to know, How the word Laundry was coined.. :-)

I am a pretty busy person; I tutor SCAD students in the evenings, and during the day I paint, write and compose music, design jewelry, garden, and cook. I have just closed my small cafe which was open for 5 years, where I received a recommendation from National Geographic Travel…
