(adults only; clothing optional.)

15 min. drive to Pioneertown and Pappy & Harriet's. 30 min. to Palm Springs & national park entrance.

The space
Classic, elegant vintage airstream, located a mile and a half up a dirt road, surrounded by Joshua Trees, gorgeous views, on a large, very cool artist compound.

15 minutes to Pioneertown, 20 minutes to park entrance. 25 minutes to Palm Springs. (Although you may not want to go anywhere. It's paradise here.)

Heater provided in winter and fan in summer.

Guests have 24 hour access to bathroom and kitchen in main house. 2 large dining tables, one inside and one outside. Great, romantic spot to whole up for a jaunt to Joshua Tree or just to get out of the city.

Nobody under 18 is allowed on the property.

We try to cultivate an atmosphere of freedom, relaxation, creative community, communion with nature & other interesting humans. Please do what you can to respect, and if possible, contribute to this ethos. There are very few rules here, but here are some general guidelines:

Pool area is clothing optional. Friends and guests enjoy sunbathing & most go naked in the hot tub, which is heated year round, from sunset until a little after dark (later on request.)

Please be as clean as possible when entering the water (especially no oils, sun screen etc., and wipe any dirt off your feet.)

When you come to the main house, please be careful that doors are properly shut and that the cat doesn't get out!

Pee anywhere on the property, but not in the pool.

Very open and liberal environment, but of course please be calm, kind, and respectful to all. Feel free to explore all the nature around the property, but obviously treat it with utmost care and respect.

We get many return visitors and we have to remind ourselves that some of our dearest friends were once Airbnb guests. That said, we also enjoy and respect people’s right to a private experience. Please do the same:)

Feel free to contact me with any questions, read the reviews, and I hope to see you soon!

PS: Yes, there is a fire pit, but I strongly discourage its use when it’s too hot, dry or windy. Bring your own wood, and never leave fire unattended.

Guest access
Guests have full access to house kitchen and bathroom.

Other things to note
Wifi doesn’t reach the trailer. You’ll have to come to main house.

It feels totally secluded: cannot hear a car; 360 degree views of joshua trees and mountains, yet only a 10 minute drive to all the conveniences of modern civilization.

Half Italian, half American film director, photographer, and co-founder of The Bombay Beach Biennale. I love the intersection of art, community, architecture, design, and hospitality which is fostered by hosting on Airbnb. My grandfather had a commune in Italy where he removed the locks from all the doors, psychedelic exploration was encouraged, free love was practiced, and all were welcome. Today, I feel that we can pursue the same ideals, but having learned from the mistakes and excesses of the 1960s. Airbnb allows us to to have this always evolving, self sustaining communal experience, without the chaos and dysfunction that sometimes came with it (In other words, we get people’s luggage, but hopefully not their baggage!) The films I am most proud of are Being in the World, “a celebration of being human in a technological age” (through the writings of Martin Heidegger,) and Monogamish, a quest to understand love in the 21st century, starring Dan Savage, Esther Perel and Christopher Ryan. Please feel free to get in touch with any questions.
