Completely renovated summer of 2013
Private full bathroom
This room is the bottom floor of a two story apartment. We occupy the top floor and rent out the bottom floor. The bottom floor has it's own private entrance where guests can come and go freely. The full private bathroom is included within the spacious room and is exclusively for the guest/guests.
The room stays naturally cool during the summer. Heat is included during the winter months.
Queen size bed comfortably sleeps two. I also provide a queen or single size air mattress for additional guests.
Plenty of closet and shelf space, and convenient access to laundry in the building.
Also included in the room:
A small refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, iron, ironing board, blow dryer, clean towels and sheets.
We love calling the upper east side home! The neighborhood is rich in history and is nestled between Central Park and East River Park - great for runs and picnics. The area is packed with cafes, coffee shops, and restaurants. It is also conveniently located to Madison Avenue and Bloomingdales for shopping. Although you’re in the city that never sleeps, our neighborhood is quiet and peaceful, so you won’t have a problem getting a good night’s rest after a long day exploring the city.
Our apartment is especially convenient for guests travelling to NYC who work at the United Nations, as we frequently have hosted UN employees in the past. The UN headquarters is 20 minutes by bus (or about a 5 min cab).
The area is also host to some of the most famous museums in the world. The string of museums along Fifth Avenue fronting Central Park has been dubbed "Museum Mile." Among the cultural institutions on the Upper East Side: 92nd Street Y, The Asia Society, Cooper–Hewitt, National Design Museum, The Frick Collection, The Jewish Museum of New York, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, The Museum of the City of New York, The National Academy of Design, The Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, The Whitney Museum of American Art, and El Museo Del Barrio. The United Nations, Grand Central Terminal, and the Chrysler Building are all conveniently accessible from our location.
The apartment is a few minutes walking distance from the Q train. It is also a 10 minute walk to the 6 train at 77th St. and the 4/5 express trains at 86th St.. The M72, M31, and M79 bus lines are minutes away by foot as well. Additionally, there are several convenient Zipcar locations in the immediate proximity.
