Guests love our covered outdoor kitchen, luxurious baths, large soaker tub, and paved parking area suitable for snowmobile trailers.
The space
Our luxurious 2 storey home with a developed walkout lower level offers 3 levels of living space and has everything you need for your mountain stay. Finished with the finest materials and furnished with heirloom furnishings, premium cookware and plush towels, our mandate is to make your stay enjoyable. Our Ski Hill location is ideal, private with unobstructed starlit skies away from the noise of the grooming machines, yet a short walk (or even shorter drive if you prefer) to the ski lifts and the Resort Village. This home is perfect for families or mature responsible adults looking to experience a luxurious vacation in a unique private setting away from the stresses of daily life.
There is a queen bed in the master bedroom, a queen bed in the second bedroom and a pseudo-King bed (two twins combined on a large frame) in the third bedroom. There is also a queen size sofa bed adjacent to the 4 piece bath in the lower living area. The home is equipped with 3 1/2 baths, all of which have heated tile floors. All of the full baths have showers and one full bath has a large soaker tub as well that can accommodate two persons. Children love it! The home has a well equipped gourmet kitchen with professional gas range, refrigerator with ice maker, dishwasher, and microwave oven. The kitchen has everything you need for fine dining including Paderno cookware and Denby dinnerware.
The dining table seats 6 comfortably and with two matching chairs can accommodate 8 for cozy family gatherings. The eating bar in the kitchen has seating for 2 more.
The home is equipped with 2 Smart televisions with basic cable service plus sports channels.
Outdoors you can enjoy our covered outdoor kitchen and entertainment area with BBQ grill, pizza oven, wok burner and dining facilities. Weather permitting, the log picnic table in the cedar forest behind the house is perfect for a casual picnic. For summer use there is an uncovered deck on the side of the cabin that looks over the forest, and a sunken terrace adjacent to the outdoor kitchen and hot tub areas.
There is a front loading Vermont Castings wood burning stove in the main living area for cozy gatherings.
There is also a front load washer and steam dryer on the second level of the home for guest use.
The private front drive offers plenty of parking and can accommodate up to 6 vehicles, or 2 trucks with 4 place snowmobile trailers in tow. The length of the driveway is approximately 45 ft.
A separate entrance at the back of the house leads to a mudroom with a ski closet for your winter gear and ample ski/board/skiwear storage.
The home is furnished with quality heirloom furnishings and we expect that they will be treated with care. Please use the coasters provided for your beverages.
We are sorry but the Fernie Log Cabin is not equipped with furniture suitable for infant children such as cribs or high chairs.
Guest access
Guests will have access to the entire home with the exception of the owner's lock-off and housekeeping storage areas on the lower level.
There is a vintage Hammond organ under a blanket in the main living area that is not functioning but is in the process of undergoing an internal restoration. The keyboard is locked. Thanks in advance for respecting our private items.
Other things to note
Additional services are available in the town of Fernie about a 10 minute drive from the Fernie Log Cabin. There you will find 2 large grocery stores, specialty food shops, a micro-brewery, a craft distillery, liquor sales, restaurants, lounges, nightlife, a post office, hospital, the Fernie Aquatic Centre, the Fernie Golf and Country Club, a cinema, spas, and an abundance of ski/board, fly fishing, hiking, cycling, and outdoor gear, clothing, and souvenir shops.
