Prit and Deb are helpful, lovely people. This place is perfect if you're looking for a true retreat from the busy world- tranquil, with peaceful Dundrennan Abbey a 20 minute walk away, and coffee shop across the road from abbey.

This is a beautifully equipped cottage adjoining the house in which the owners live, in landscaped grounds with ample space and parking. We found it extremely comfortable and cosy with a "farmhouse feel" but with all mod cons including a luxurious bath/ shower room upstairs and a similar shower room downstairs, a very well equipped kitchen with a dishwasher and washing machine - so no drudgery on holiday! Prit is a charming host and had made us a fresh loaf of bread and included milk and butter for our arrival. Toiletries and things like tea, coffee, laundry tablets and so on were all provided. We had good weather and so spent a lot of time out and about on the beautiful nearby coastal walks and also Threave gardens and castle and the Gem Rock Museum (on our rainy day!). Nearby Kirkcudbright and Castle Douglas are interesting to visit and also have many good eating places and a brewery (Castle Douglas). Our dog loved the holiday too. We hope to treat ourselves to another stay in the future. Truly relaxing.

As good as it gets! Prit and Debbie are very kind and friendly hosts. The cottage has the perfect blend of rustic country and modern. It was perfectly clean and ready upon our arrival. The scenery outside the cottage is exactly what I wanted to see in Scotland. Rolling green fields (that go on forever) and animals grazing everywhere. Amazing stay. We are very grateful to have had the opportunity.

The steading is comfortable, cosy, and of the highest quality - the wood burning stove, kitchen complete with dishwasher, and two luxurious wet rooms were particular highlights. The location is great: picturesque and quiet, but only 15 minutes from Kirkcudbright. And Prit is the most gracious of hosts. As well as providing us with firewood, milk, butter and a freshly home baked loaf of bread, he very kindly spent an hour one evening showing us the moon up close through his amazing telescope. A great experience and we'll definitely be back!
