My unusual house is part of a former brewery site, converted to residential use 80+ years ago.
One mile from Stroud railway station and town centre. Several good bus services stop very nearby, with direct routes into Stroud, also to Gloucester & Cheltenham.
4 miles from M5 Junction 13.
Near to wonderful views from high ground, out across the Severn Vale.
Very close to Stroudwater Canal with its footpath walks.
Breakfast: cereal/toast/yoghourt/fruitjuice, fruit – on self-service basis.
The accommodation is on the first floor (easy staircase). The bed is a standard double size (4ft 6ins).
The ensuite facilities include toilet, wash-basin and bath (no shower).
The fridge, kettle and toaster on the adjacent landing are for your exclusive use. There is also a shared microwave.
Access to the upper floor of the house is via my old-fashioned kitchen/dining room. Visitors will normally have the upper floor to themselves. My own accommodation is on the floor below.
Interaction with guests
I know the Stroud area well and will gladly give information and recommendations of places to visit, walks, eating places, pubs, etc, if wanted.
Other things to note
No parking at the house, but a large public car park (free for 48 hours) is 4-minutes walk way.
Cancel up to 5 days before your trip and get a full refund. Cancel within 5 days of your trip and the first night is non-refundable, but 50% of the cost for the remaining nights will be refunded.
