Clean, sunny, bright and cheery accommodations just 10 miles to Grand Targhee and 2 miles to downtown Driggs. One bedroom with two twin beds and a loft bedroom with queen bed. At 1,008 sqft, this small home packs a cozy punch. Sleeps 4 adults comfortably. Located on a quiet street just off Ski Hill Road, this intimate and comfortable bungalow offers the perfect holiday retreat from crowds, noise, and city traffic. All the peace and quiet of small town Idaho at the base of the Tetons!

The space
Situated off Ski Hill Road, the Birdhouse offers convenience to in-town amenities and close proximity to serious outdoor pursuits. Whether coming to Driggs to play in the mountains or rivers, the Birdhouse gives you a relaxing place to return to at the end of a long day doing what you love to do on vacation.

Guest access
Small driveway for off-street parking available.  Wi-fi, Directv and washer/dryer included. Flat screen, wall-mounted televisions in each room.

One first floor bedroom with two twin beds.  Full bathroom on first floor. Second floor sleeping loft with queen bed and powder room consisting of toilet and sink.

Also, a baby cot, high chair and crib sheet are available upon request.

Fully equipped kitchen. Dining table for two and two additional seats at the countertop bar.

In an effort to protect our beautiful streams and rivers we try to only use pesticides for controlling noxious weeds. To conserve water, we have let the wild and native landscape do its own thing! In the summer there is a large backyard with fire pit, bbq, and seating for incredible star-gazing.

We do absolutely recommend cars with All Wheel Drive or the option. Snow tires are also highly recommended. The streets in town and to the mountain can experience a delay in plowing depending on the amount of snow that has dropped. Driggs is very snowy!

Other things to note
This is a small house! The main floor of the house is 640 sqft. Minimum stay: 2 nights, 3 nights for long holiday weekends.

Additional amenities can be provided upon request.

The road to the house and the driveway will be plowed before 8AM on days that receive 4-6 inches of snow or more. This is a small town and the amount of snowfall can delay plowing; occasionally it will be later than 8AM.

You will need to shovel the short walkway to where your car is parked. We do provide a shovel outside the front door. Again, if you are here for the skiing, the amount of snowfall we get only adds to the joy!

Winter guests: All Wheel Drive is highly recommended for this snowy climate.

This is my livelihood. Please be respectful of my home and business.

There is a Thai Diner in town called Teton Thai with delicious noodle bowls and hot soups, a variety of beer and wine.  Upstairs in the same building is Tatonka, a pizza, beer and wine joint with a fun happy hour and regular quiz nights!

The local watering hole is called The Royal Wolf. Located downtown, it has a full bar and a menu full of choices ranging from standard bar grub, a la chicken tenders and wings to fresh salads, hot sandwiches and freshly cut and fried fries.
From the house to the downtown off Ski Hill Rd., there is a restaurant called Forage. Voted best restaurant in the state of Idaho by Yelp!  Freshly prepared, delicious, “eclectic” food. “Five star food at an affordable price”. The couple who co-own the restaurant took it over in 2015 and have put it on the map in little Teton Valley for tourists and locals alike.  Wednesdays is half price bottles of wine. Happy hour is 3-6.   If you find yourself in the mood to drive the 8 miles to Victor there is a restaurant called Spoons which is also a treat.

Just 10 miles down the road from Grand Targhee resort, you can drive the 2 miles into town and catch the Targhee shuttle or drive up to the mountain on a paved and continuously plowed road.
**And, if you are getting burned out on all the big snow, varied terrain, and short lift lines that Targhee has to offer, and are looking to explore nearby ski resorts, our house is located just 33 miles from Jackson, Wy; 317 miles north of Park City, Ut; 145 miles from Big Sky, Mt, and 200 miles from Sun Valley.  Primo ski territory, folks!

I was born in Texas, raised in Virginia, went to college in Montana, met the love of my life and moved to sunny southern California.  After having two kids, the overwhelming desire to be back in the mountains and rivers took over.  We sold our house in Santa Barbara, packed up the truck and kiddos, and headed towards Montana.  Only thing is, we stopped for dinner in this tiny town outside Jackson, Wyoming.  A town called Driggs.  After a wonderful Pad See Ew (thai noodles at Teton Thai), we decided we should spend the night and check out more the next day.  The very next day we rode the lift up at Targhee, drove to the banks of the Teton River, cruised the supermarket, and walked right down main street and into Sage Realty.  We looked at three homes and purchased this one!  Thus began the greatest season of our lives: Winter at Grand Targhee!       We have fallen madly in love with this mountain and cherish this home and the opportunities it has given us.  We love our home and find it very special.  We always look forward to sharing it, and the experience of this mountain with others who will also appreciate it.       We hope you have an enchanting stay and plenty of fresh pow xx
