Our stylish and modern newly renovated one bedroom flat combines boutique hotel accommodation with home living. Just minutes from the famous Portobello Market and trendy restaurants and shops of Notting Hill, our spacious flat also has easy access to the Ladbroke Grove tube line.
The flat is our London pied a terre, which we use on the rare occassions when we are in London. We haven't lived in Notting Hill for years, and love how much energy there is here at the weekends. Still, as we know London is known for its quiet Villas and parks, we wanted to let guests know that our area is definitely more urban sights and sounds (shops and cars) - especially in the summer months with the windows opened - than London leafy (apple trees and birds).
We live year round in a small village, and love the city feel of our new neighbourhood. The big Portobello Saturday Street Market is almost on the doorstep, and, absolutely the best of Notting Hill is around the corner. Things aren't rowdy in any way and definitely feel very safe - the shops across from the building are uncharacteristically open until 1 am so walking home from the tube ( 2 minutes away ) or jumping out of a cab feels much safer than we were used to in our old London neighbourhood.
We have bought new linens and towels and toiletries. And the place is fairly stocked up on basic food stuffs and alcohol. Please feel free to make yourself 100% at home. We have also prepared a little packet with good places to eat and shop in the neighbourhood - including the great take away and bring your own bottle places that are cheaper but really good.
We really love our time at the flat, and hope you enjoy your stay. Julia
Guests have access to the full range of flat amenities: stocked kitchen, linens, TV, Amazon Prime, DVDs, books, hair dryer, honour bar.
Interaction with guests
I am not in London as the same time as guests, but am always available online and will do all that I can to help ensure a great visit to London. I have left a list of great area places in Notting Hill and created a special map of the neighbourhood.
Other things to note
We have left an extensive owners manual but we like to particularly stress:
1) Please turn off the heat before leaving
2) Please close the windows
3) If, for any reason, the boiler switches off you just need to reset it - the circular reset button is on the right. Resetting can sometimes take a few tries
4) The flat has wireless internet which is connected to the TV so you can watch BBC iPlayer. We also have hundreds of FreeView channels and an extensive DVD collection.
