Ro is a lovely man who's very accommodating. Checking-in was a breeze and the room was ready and clean when I got there.

This is definitely a hostel experience although the rooms are private. Ro is a charming and hospitable host. The building is older and has seen quite a bit of wear. However, the price is very affordable and Ro is working to expand and update the facility.. Everyone I met seemed very pleasant and the town is nice and peaceful.

Value, convenience and the wonderful surprise of the town of Maynooth were the stars of this listing. It is advertised as a hostel and has a very hostel vibe to it. But my private room was big and had a comfortable bed, and a fantastic TV lounge just across the hall. And though the town is about 100 yards long, there is so much packed in there! Galleries, natural food and general stores, restaurant, chip truck. And the best part for me, the bar in the hostel. In appearance it is just a typical townie bar with a stage and pool table, but oh the people who came in! Creative, diverse, interesting, and easy to talk to. I really liked my night in Maynooth and look forward to staying there again.

Hostel with general store and cafe near by. Bar is open Fridays and Saturdays and is a 30 minute drive from Algonquin. Well equipped kitchen and friendly and helpful staff.

Ro was great! I used his place as a base camp to go into the park for a week and it was easy to find, clean and comfortable!

What a great hostel! Ro and Peter (and indeed the other locals I met) were all very friendly and enthusiastic to point a traveller new to the area in the right directions, although you really are spoilt for choice up there if you like the outdoors. Great first night sitting on the veranda with Peter knocking back a couple of beers, shame I didn't make it to the pub the next night. Good kitchen and very comfy common room. Other guests all great to chat to - enough of a balance if you want interaction or privacy. Solid single bedroom. Would definitely go back again and stay for longer. If you're planning on visiting Algonquin National Park, use this place as your base! Maynooth is a lovely little town and only a 20min drive from nearby Bancroft, which is bigger and also great.

Hi there! I'm a seasoned traveler who now owns his own youth hostel. I haven't seen enough of the world yet, so I may yet come to see your corner of this little blue speck in the heavens.
