The space
This recently renovated four-seasons property offers an experience that is a blend of natural beauty and modern conveniences. Located approximately 60 minutes west from downtown Ottawa, the property has been thoughtfully designed to provide the utmost comfort and relaxation during your stay. Featuring mid-century touches throughout, over 200ft of water frontage, and a wrap-around patio with over 400 sq/ft. You can explore the Ottawa River by kayak (or paddle board), sunbathe on your own private beach, or simply spend the afternoon relaxing on the patio with open views of Lavergne Bay. A giant backyard overlooking the water is perfect for a game of bocce ball, lawn dice, badminton, or even a bit of kid-friendly axe-throwing. Feel free to stream your favourite playlist while unwinding in the hot tub located in a three-season sunroom with waterfront views. The outdoor fire pit is also an excellent spot to gather at the end of the day where you can roast marshmallows, stargaze or possibly even see the Northern Lights (if you’re lucky!). A commercial-grade whole-house water filtration system ensures that all water is contaminent-free and safe for drinking, cooking or bathing. Additionally, there is a Kohler generator which ensures uninterrupted power service to the property.
Accommodations
The property features three bedrooms on the main floor as well as a pull-out sofa bed and futon in the basement. The primary bedroom features a king-size memory foam mattress on a zero gravity adjustable bed frame allowing reduced spinal pressure, improved circulation and deep relaxation. The second bedroom features a queen-size memory foam mattress with an optional weighted blanket to promote relaxation and improve sleep quality. The third bedroom features a twin over full bunk bed with memory foam mattresses. The fully-stocked kitchen features stainless steel appliances with quartz countertops and an induction cooktop. Choose your morning coffee how you like it: an espresso latte, a Tim Hortons K-cup, or just a plain old pot of Joe. The living room and basement both feature smart TVs with built-in Sonos surround speakers. A small collection of exercise equipment is located in the basement and a laundry tower is available next to the dedicated workspace to wash and dry items during your stay.
The Neighbourhood
Morris Island Conservation Area is just a 5 minute drive away from the property. This 47 hectare site consists of forested woodlands and wetlands. With 6 km of trails, this beautiful island encourages you to enjoy the best of Ontario’s weather throughout the seasons: hike, canoe, kayak, jog, fish, snowshoe, cross country ski and much more. Fitzroy Provincial Park is a 15 minute drive away and is made up of 490 acres of varying landscape that includes white pine and a stand of 300-year-old oaks that are located by the Carp River. There are also two marked hiking trails that are suitable for hikers of any experience level.
Guest access
Full access to the property includes 4 adult kayaks, 2 children’s kayaks, 2 standup paddle boards, floating dock, fire pit, private beach and free on-site parking. Please note that access does not include the garage located on the property or access to mechanical areas within the house.
