Guest access
DRIVE TO YOUR DOORSTEP

Our campsites are accessed via a well-signed, level, flat gravel laneway through our wooded 134 acre wilderness farm just outside Algonquin Park. Signs are reflective for day or night-time self check ins. Everything is signed very well so you don't have to worry, even at night. Our main sign says 'Highland Wilderness Tours' and is lit up with sparkly lights at night, as are the main gates.

There are some trees close along the path but I drive my Chrysler Town and Country to every cabin without issue and it has a spoiler.

All cabins and campsites are fully accessible by vehicle from late May until late November. Meadowlark #5 has easy, year-round access.

OFF SEASON ACCESS

Campsites are bookable year round (yes, even in winter, for our winter camping/snowshoeing/skiing enthusiasts) however you will have to provide all gear to access the sites. They are @ 10 - 15 minute walk on a summer trail.

Deer Meadow #1 and Cozy Cabin #2 are bookable in March, April and May, but between March and mid-May, the trails may not yet be open. In those cases, guests park at the barn (secure location) and walk nine minutes along a snowy trail to the cabin. For no additional fee, we provide a sleigh, and/or a tracked vehicle to bring gear in and out.

Please contact Penny for further details about off-season rentals.

My work: Snowmobile Tours
Fun fact: I am an author!
My husband Matt and I started Highland Wilderness Tours in 2001. It expanded into guided Horseback Riding, Horse Camps, Dogsledding & winter Snowmobile tours. After Covid we downsized to a more relaxed hum, and we now provide cabin rentals, guided snowmobile tours & rentals, and run a greenhouse that is open to the public.
