About this listing

In our home we have enough space and we love to be able to share it with travelers and adventurous people.

We build 2 small and comfy cabins ideal to spend some days in the area. Located at 2.5 km (1.5 miles) from the ADO bus station in a very quiet zone.

We have good home atmosphere and we certainly help you to enjoy your stay if you want!

The space

The land is about 1 ha. where we've built the cabins with bamboo we planted here. The cabins are comfortable and perfect to rest, all protected with mosquito net. There are open air showers and bathrooms.

Guest access

We have an open air shared kitchen, with mini fridge, mini stove, and basic kitchen accessories you're free to use. Next to it, is the "bar", where you can have your drinks, listen to music, and have a good time.

Interaction with guests

We're a small family who live and work here, so we'll be addressing any needs you might have, and we'll also try to make you feel at home.

Other things to note

There's a cronstruction outside of the house, over the highway but it just stopped a few weeks ago. There's no obstruction or noises during the day.

Maty and Rogelio were absolutely great! I would definitely stay there again.

The cabins and common area in Casa Bambutan were built with a lot of skill and love. Our cabin had a neat loft and there was a complete layer of screening that kept the vast majority of bugs out, so there was a great balance of having modern amenities and being close to nature. Maty and Rogelio were thoughtful, fun, and welcoming hosts, and we got to see the howler monkeys right on our first morning there (the baby in the troop is named Pablito). If you're staying here, you'll probably need to take a taxi and point right at Roger's sign at the bridge construction so that you don't pass the place. We tried walking from the downtown once, but it was a bit of a trek along a semi-busy road. Still, it was relatively easy to call a taxi (we averaged about 60-70 pesos each trip), and it was worth it for the laidback, enchanting atmosphere.

Definitely recommend this place! We loved this place so much that we stayed here just relaxing for three full days before heading up to the ruins and other sites. The family had done an amazing job on the place. The cabana is simple but super comfortable, made with great attention to details and some beautiful woodwork. It is also completely screened off so there were no mosquitoes! The common area with an outdoor kitchen is also amazing, rustic but complete with modern conveniences. Carol wasn't there but she gave us very detailed direction before we arrived. Maty is the super host who brings you amazing home cooked breakfast every morning. And then she'd call for the monkeys to come for their breakfast if they happen to be nearby. We fed the monkeys for five days straight and never got tired of it. They're extremely cute, and actually very gentle. Not at all what I expected of feeding wild monkeys. The location is not much of an issue as you can easily catch a colectivo into town, and anyway, once you're there, you probably won't want to go anywhere else.

This place is perfect. The cabanas are as shown but the best part is the bar kitchen area- great to socialise and have a few cheap beers. The breakfast is great a- cooked fresh by the family- couldn't have asked for better. The real draw is feeding the family of monkeys that are around the home- amazing experience. All I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. Thanks for making our stay in palenque memorable. Hosts were perfect.

This place was by far one of the most inexpensive and extravagant spot I have ever been to. Clean, hospitable, and amazing people. I could not have found a better stay in Mexico. I'm just amazed at how the host/s were able to make such a gorgeous place. We were able to see, feel and touch the Howling monkeys as well, such experience is priceless. 100% the best.

Amazing place. You sleep in a comfortable bed in a wooden cabin from which you can hear all the relaxing nature sounds outside, but you also have all conveniences: electricity, nice toilets, shower, a kitchen. The domain itself is beautiful: everything made in wood by the owners, and it is kept nicely clean. The breakfast is tasty, and the owners very friendly, arranging taxis and tours and being nice people in general. Staying here was a very pleasant and relaxing experience, highly recommended for all who enjoy nature.
