We had six guys for our weekend here, and everyone was comfortable with a place to sleep. We appreciated air conditioning, enough space and chairs for everyone both indoors and outdoors, the fire pit (with smores materials inside), and the grill/kitchen. We had great communication with our hosts, who offered suggestions regarding recreation in the area. We have been talking about visiting again at some point, we enjoyed our stay so much.

We'd never been to Stone Mountain and found this treasure when planning a trip to do some hiking and sightseeing in the area. This spot is just a little over 2 hours from the Triangle. The state park was only 5 easy miles away from the cabins. We hiked to Wolf Rock for incredible views and stopped by Widow's Falls, an enchanted little spot just off the road. We loved Roaring River Winery so much that we visited twice. They have draft beers in addition to some excellent wines. The grounds are beautiful and it's just a short 3-mile drive from the cabins. We are so grateful Mike and Sherrie have created this cozy little retreat. We enjoyed the quiet, expansive property appreciating that they are pet-friendly. The cabins are separated by a porch which is great for those who want space. We found it a little odd if we left something in the other cabin or needed a midnight snack after bed but it's just a short trek across the porch to access the living cabin. The fire pit is the best and we really appreciated the smores supplies that were waiting upon arrival. We spent most of our time on the wide, covered porch with tiki torches lit and either listening to the sounds of nature or enjoying the outdoor speakers. The cabins are clean and well appointed. The kitchen is stocked with all the basics so cooking meals is easy. The monogrammed towels in the bathroom are just perfect. We enjoyed seeing framed receipts and history from where the cabins were originally built. When a summer storm rolls in, there are plenty of movies and some microwave popcorn to pass the time. It took us about half hour to get to Elkin, a quaint little mountain town. We enjoyed 222 and Southern on Main as well as the Angry Troll brewery. We've already recommended this little spot to friends and we do hope to visit again some day! It's one of those places you can truly feel relaxed, peaceful and inspired. Thanks for sharing your little slice of heaven!

We loved our stay at this cabin! Everything was EXACTLY as described and pictured. We loved that the place felt rustic, but still had modern conveniences like a/c! Communication was great, and wouldn't hesitate to return for an even longer stay.

Looking for a getaway in the country or a place from which to explore rural NC? These two lovely cabins have everything you need, and your hosts have thought of it all. Modern bathrooms, small but useful kitchen (with all the utensils and even some condiments), indoor/outdoor speaker system so you can relax on the deck, Adirondack chairs, campfire complete with stacked wood and s'mores fixings, comfy master suite and a cool loft in their own cabin for the kids, pullout couches and cots if your group is larger than 4, even a DVD player with a great selection of movies. The two dogs that "visited" us daily (we named them Brownie and Licorice) were a huge hit with my kids. The grounds include some walking trails and a creek where my kids found crawfish. They loved catching lightning bugs at night. We had a wonderful time and spent quality time together as a family.

Exactly as pictured - beautiful. Great area, great people, great home. You can get cell reception at end of drive which was a nice surprise for when needed. 2 Very friendly dogs followed my son on his run and joined us to relax on the porch, loved everything about the place. Ease of use, everything we needed, perfect for my family's weekend trip to area for a wedding.
