The Hygge House is ideal for both families and friends to gather and experience all that Tofino has to offer. The home is cozy, bright, and spacious. Enjoy the breath taking views of the inlet from our double deck balcony, or relaxing in the hammock. Rinse off after surfing in the heated outdoor shower, and warm up and relax around the backyard fire pit.

The space
The Hygge House is located on the unceded land of the Tla-o-qui-aht First Nation in Tofino, BC, Canada. We are a Tribal Park Ally.

The home is cozy, bright, and spacious. Enjoy the breath taking views of the inlet from our double deck balcony, or relaxing in the hammock. Rinse off after your surf sesh in the heated outdoor shower, and warm up and relax around the backyard fire pit.

"Hygge" (Hyoo-guh) is a Danish concept difficult to translate or describe - Things that come to mind include coziness, candle light, warm socks and blankets, spending time with family and friends. We hope you find this feeling when staying at our home.

The Hygge House is 2400 square feet with vaulted ceilings and an open living space (kitchen, dining room, living room). The upstairs overlooks the living room and has views of the ocean and mountains from both floors. The place is stocked with a Nespresso machine, French press, and drip coffee maker. For environmental purposes, we have chosen to no longer supply guests with Nespresso pods, but feel free to bring your own. We are pleased to instead offer you a taste of local coffee beans from Tofino Coffee Roasting Company. The place also is connected with fibre optic wifi (gigabit speed- the fastest that exists at the moment).

The house is ideally located with the entire back half of the house overlooking the Clayoquot Sound waters and humbling mountains of Meares Island and beyond. By foot we are just steps from restaurants (Shelter, Shed, Wolf in the fog, Ombre), surf rentals (Long Beach, Surf Sister, Storm), adventure tours including whale watching and boat tours, BC Liquor, the Co-Op (grocery store), Pharmacy, Hardware store, and cafes (Tofino Coffee Co., Rhino), and less than a 5 minute drive to beaches (McKenzie, Chesterman, Cox Bay), Tacofino, Tofino Distillery and Tofino brewery.

Guest access
The entire house and property, with exception to the completely separate garage suite where our tenant lives. Tofino Air Bnb regulations require a tenant to live on the property - we're playing by the rules here. You won't notice he's there!
