Bayfield - not just a summer destination. Enjoy a stay in Bayfield close to everything. A five minute walk to the beach and parks. Shopping and restaurants and coffee are just around the corner. ( One hundred and fifty steps to a coffee shop and sixty-six steps to the first store.) Close to Stratford, Grand Bend and Goderich for additional shopping, theatre and festivals.

The space
You will enjoy a spacious house with three bedrooms on the second floor with a bathroom (shower, tub, toilet and sink) which has recently been renovated. There is original hardwood flooring through out most of the main and second level; much of it recently refinished. Take time to enjoy the new second floor balcony which overlooks the yard. The kitchen can accommodate 4 guests at the table and 3 on the bench while the cook in the group whips up dinner. There is a separate dining room with room for 8-10 people. The living room has a couch, love seat and large chair grouped around the gas fireplace and TV. In the corner there are comfortable chairs for reading. Or you can pull up a couple of extra chairs to play cards or board games. The main floor has a washroom with a large shower, towel and sink. There is a shower chair to use if needed. The closet in the bathroom houses a condo size stacked washer and dryer. There is also extra closet space for coats. The sun-room may be used for extra space during the day (couch and chair) and then a great bedroom with a sofa bed at night. There is enough room for everyone to have privacy but wonderful space for coming together.

Guest access
Guests have access to the main and second level. The basement houses the furnace and electrical panels and the hosts belongings. Access is allowed for emergency access as needed but generally unless there are problems, guest should not be in the basement. The guests can use the small garage for storage of bicycles, canoes etc. but is not a space for children to play in. The owners use this space for storage

Bayfield is a quaint town with tree lined streets . There is lots to do from hiking, sailing, swimming and shopping/browsing in the unique shops. Goderich (20 min) and Stratford (40 min) are close enough to allow easy day trips. Or maybe you just want to relax in the sun or shade reading, sipping wine or watching the kids play. Summer weekends can be quite busy but week days usually are relatively quiet. If you are looking for a quiet get away in the winter that is close but still far away from noise and bustle, Bayfield will work for that too. Would like to book for 3 week blocks over the summer with one week inbetween for full cleaning and allowing the place to be vacant during this coronavirus time. Please message me if you have any questions or want to consider another length of time. Will consider a reduced rate for less than 8 guests during non peak times (June-September and holiday weekends). Please message me with your request. For more information about Bayfield, see the website www.villageofbayfield.com.

John and Julia enjoy hosting for Airbnb and achieved Super Host status as soon as the time frame allowed. Julia's day job is in health care and John's is in construction. Together they enjoyed renovating this historic home in Bayfield. Julia's hobby is painting and you will sometimes find her art in the house, as it rotates from art show to home, to cottage. We are pleased to open our home/cottage to people looking for a relaxing holiday in the summer or the winter.
