Room in a rental unit

Your own room in a home, plus access to shared spaces.
Stay in the Cèilidh Room at The Glengarry Inn, a restored 1880s heritage property in Northern Cape Breton, 7 minutes from the Cabot Trail.

The room is on the third floor of the inn and sleeps four across a queen bed and two twin beds, with a kitchenette and the inn's only private deck.

Take in mountain and ocean views over Aspy Bay from your own outdoor space. walking distance to North Harbour Beach and one of Canada's great coastal drives.

The space
The Cèilidh Room takes up the third floor of the inn, spacious, light-filled, and designed with families and small groups in mind. It's the largest room in the inn, and the only one with its own private deck.

What's waiting for you:

- Queen bed plus two twin beds (sleeps 4 comfortably)
- Private deck with unobstructed mountain and ocean views & this is where you'll want your morning coffee
- Kitchenette with Keurig, two mini fridges, and the basics for simple meals
- Private en-suite bathroom with shower
- Air conditioning for warm nights
- Smart TV and fast WiFi throughout
- Hair dryer, fresh towels, and quality linens
- Free parking on site
- Self check-in via keypad.

No elevator: just three flights of stairs and a view that makes it worth every step.

Downstairs, the inn's 19th-century general store, untouched since the 1950s, now serves as an on-site museum we love showing guests around.

We don't serve meals at the inn, but good food is never far. Ask us, and we'll point you to the right places.

Guest access
You'll enter through the main inn door on the right. We send your key codes before arrival, one for the building and one for the Cèilidh Room on the third floor.

Your private deck is accessed directly from the room. It's all yours for the duration of your stay.

The inn's common areas, including our 19th-century general store museum, are open to all guests. North Harbour Beach on Aspy Bay is a five-minute walk from the front door.

During your stay
We're on the property and genuinely available. We love helping guests make the most of this part of Cape Breton, whether that's pointing you toward a humpback whale sighting, organising a scooter for the day, or just telling you which trail to catch at golden hour.

Other things to note
We don't allow pets, but we should mention that Ben and Quin, our two miniature Australian shepherds, live here and may trot over to say hello when you arrive. They're very friendly and very enthusiastic about guests.

The Glengarry is 145 years old, which means it has all the character of a heritage building, including the occasional sound that travels between rooms. We've done our best with insulation, but light sleepers may want to pack earplugs just in case.

You'll see some scaffolding on the exterior, we're in the middle of a loving restoration. Your room is fully finished and completely unaffected.

TRAVELLING WITH A GROUP?

The inn has three more rooms: the Cèilidh Room (sleeps 4 with a private deck, 3rd floor), the Piper Room (quiet couples room, 2nd floor), and the Cabot Room (private entrance apartment, ground floor). Each bookable separately, all in the same building.

THE AREA

Step outside and you're looking at Sugar Loaf Mountain with the Atlantic at your back. Seven minutes up the road, the Cabot Trail begins — one of the world's great coastal drives.
