We've put extra sound insulation between the walls here & it's one of the best-insulated rooms in the inn, which matters in a 145-year-old building.
Guest access
The main inn entrance is the far-right door. You'll receive your personal key codes before arrival, one for the building, one for the Piper Room upstairs.
The ground floor is home to our 19th-century general store museum, which hasn't operated as a shop since the 1950s. It's open to all guests and genuinely worth a look.
During your stay
We live on the property, and we mean it when we say we're here for you. If you want a quiet, undirected stay — wonderful, we'll leave you to it.
If you want local knowledge — like the trail that isn't on the map, the beach most visitors miss, and where to get lobster straight off the boat- we love sharing all of it.

A FEW THINGS WORTH KNOWING
No pets allowed, though Ben and Quin, our two miniature Australian shepherds, live here and have very strong opinions about welcoming guests. They're harmless and very affectionate.
We'll be honest:
This is a building from 1880, and some sound moves through it. The Piper Room is one of the quieter ones, but light sleepers might want earplugs just in case.
TRAVELLING WITH A GROUP?
The inn has three more rooms: the Glen Room (couples, 2nd floor), the Cèilidh Room (sleeps 4 with a private deck, 3rd floor), and the Cabot Room (private entrance apartment, ground floor). Each bookable separately, all in the same building.
THE AREA
Dingwall sits where the Sugar Loaf and Sam's Mountain range meet the sea. North Harbour Beach is a walk from the front door. The Cabot Trail is seven minutes up the road — and from there, all of Northern Cape Breton opens up.
