Great location
100% of recent guests gave the location a 5-star rating.
Stunning landscape, buffalo roaming, make yourself at home on a friendly ranch! New appliances in kitchen, stove/oven dishwasher, fridge. Fireplace, campfire, explore the ranch, river frontage, wildlife, 360 mountain views. Beautiful wood fired Hot Tub and Super Host status! There are 4 year round bedrooms inside the house and one seasonal bedroom in the screened in porch that functions in the warmer months from around mid May through mid September.
There are 4 more rentals also on ranch.

The space
When you stay on the ranch you are also helping me save a breeding herd of buffalo. Please feel at home. Please note that the fifth bedroom is the screened in porch and that only functions in the warmer months about mid May through mid September. There are 3 year round bedrooms on the ground floor of the house and one bedroom downstairs. All have queen size beds. There is also a fold out bed in the master bedroom.
People from all over the world support our educational buffalo tours and they are number #1 of 64 'Things To Do' in Golden. Buffalo tours run at the ranch from May 15th until September 30th. In winter I usually have time to take you to see the buffalo, get them to come close and tell you a bit about them. Guests are free to wander the ranch and view and photograph the buffalo and other wildlife freely (Don't worry about traffic or noise, our buffalo tour guests park at the barn which is away from the guest house).

Guest access
Guests have access to wander the ranch, view the buffalo, pristine river frontage on the glacier fed Blaeberry River. You can have a campfire at the river at most times. You can enjoy a beautiful wood fired Hot Tub surrounded by snow and mountains. Guests are all invited to feel at home, wander the ranch and view the buffalo. Snowshoe, ski or walk. The ranch is set in a big meadow with 360 degree breathtaking views of the mountains.

When you book the guesthouse, you get the first floor consisting of open plan kitchen, dining room & living area. A large bathroom and three double bed rooms, the master bedroom also contains a fold-out futon that sleeps two. A screened-in porch that can sleep two more during warmer seasons. There is another double bedroom accessible through the basement when needed.

The basement is a storage area that we need access to for sheets, laundry and pantry (accessed by us through a seperate door). Please don't use the basement if not necessary. Please keep basement door closed at all times.

Please see house rules for liability waiver that applies to all guests.

Other things to note
The house will be open and ready for you upon arrival. We will give you the lay of the land, and point out the trail to the river etc. There are horse rides a few minutes up the valley and a long list of fun and wonderful things you can do in the surrounding area. We are in the heart of the parks and the Blaeberry Valley is like the park with hardly any people.

During your stay
Guests can check in on their own and make themselves at home. We like to grant guests their privacy. We are always around if you have any questions or need any help. I am happy to share about the buffalo with guests, although sometimes ranch responsibilities don't give me a lot of time. Daily buffalo tours are postponed till further notice due to virus. Normally they run at the ranch at 10:15 a.m. from May 15th until September 30th. $15 dollars for adults, free for kids under 6. In winter, tours are by prior arrangement only, feel free to ask about how those work.
