My place is close to family-friendly activities and great views. You’ll love my place because of the coziness and the location.

The space
Everything in this cabin is for your use. We do not live in this cabin and live in another cabin nearby in case you need us or have a question.

We just ask for you not to move furniture around. If you do please put back as found. I am getting too old to move furniture back you moved.

We do expect all the cooking appliances and utensils to be left clean upon your departure. If you run out of time and don’t have time to clean the oven just leave enough cash on the kitchen counter to compensate our cleaners to clean the oven and or stove. Please remember Arizona voters were very generous to increase the minimum hourly wage so we do not have $8.00 per hour employees and oven can take at least 4 hours to clean.

Guest access
Everything in this cabin is for your use. The horse barn is not part of the rental and just has some equipment in it for kids to hurt themselves.

Other things to note
You are in a very remote area and the closest community is 20 miles away to the east of Greer. We can experience outages usually for a short time period. It has vastly improved however over the 20 years we lived here.

Our elevation is around 8500 and is quite cool in the summer. Bring warm clothing even in the summer time. If you have COPD or other lung ailments your may not do very well here.

We do not need AC so window are open in summer. There is only 1 paved road in all of Greer thus we have a dust problem. We deep clean cabins 2 times per year but there could still be dust. If you only want a hospital clean place to stay then Greer is not the place to come to.

Wild animals: Our biggest problem is spiders and spider webs. We treat our cabins serval time for spiders and will wipe the webs but not all can be cleared. We do not have a big problem with bears. We have lots of raccoons. Even though they look cute they are NOT to be messed with. The easiest way to keep the bears and raccoons away from you is to make sure you put garbage in the garbage can outside. If it gets full and lid will not close anymore please call for a garbage pickup. Do not put garbage bags next to garbage cans unless you are on your last day and leaving. We are scheduled to pickup garbage shortly after your departure.

The fire pit: we do not supply the firewood or axes fire starters etc. You may go to our store, Lazy Trout Market on main highway, to sign out an ax. You will need a burn permit from the Greer Fire District. These permits are free and they will either grant you a permit or decline you a permit depending on the fire danger and wind velocity to keep us safe from forest fires. Best procedures is to call the Greer Fire District, phone number on fridge in kitchen, to see if the firemen are at the station first. You will also need the name of this cabin and the address that is clearly posted on fridge in kitchen. The firemen may be on a call and you could waste your time.

Telephone: The telephone is with unlimited long distance so please feel free to use that telephone as you wish since your cell service may not exist here in Greer.

My wife Nancy and I have been married since 1971 and are in the business of renting out our personally owned cabins in Greer, Arizona at an elevation of 8500 feet. During your stay
Nancy and I own this cabin and also two of these cabins close by. The Lazy Bear and the Little Ponderosa. We live in Greer year a round in another cabin we do not rent. We also own the Big 10 cabins, the Lazy Trout Motel and we are usually at the Lazy Trout Market we also own. We love Greer and want to share our experience with you that we had when our kids were little and now our grandkids talk about.

Please let us know if your need anything. We do not come by to check up on you. We respect your privacy and we will not to disturb you. That does not mean that we do not care. We care very much about your safety first and your comfort. We are very easy to find and easy to talk to.
