The space

Let us WELCOME you to a GNOME’S HOLLOW B&B experience. We offer you a perfect setting for a quiet-get away, where you can unwind and relax from the week’s hectic routine.

Our Cozy Cedar Log Home on Pender Island, BC is nestled in a secluded, tranquil, and unique magical woodlands setting. You access your private guest entrance to your theme room by climbing up the staircase winding through a grove of trees. For the nostalgic we offer "Bapcha’s Room", with an opportunity to step back in time among antique furniture and old photos. A sea faring rouge may like the "Captain's Room" with its nautical flare. From the "Garden Room" window, nature lovers will enjoy watching nature interact around the 15' waterfall. Each theme room has it's own private bathroom. We offer a pre-breakfast beverage delivered to your theme room. Then plan your day’s activities with your new friends over a delicious homemade three course gourmet breakfast. (special diets accommodated with notice)

NOTE: All three bedrooms are available through Airbnb as separate bookings.

We hope you come out to Pender Island and enjoy the many wonders this, our "nature island" has to offer. Sightseeing, hiking, biking, kayaking, diving, frizbee golf on a must play 27 hole course, or browsing the many quaint craft and gift shops are some of our local activities. Marine Wildlife, Gulf Island Tours, kayak and bicycle rentals can be arranged. If you interact with nature, we ask that you leave only footprints and take only pictures, so that others may enjoy it as it is for years to come.

We have worked very hard to make Gnome’s Hollow a very special place, both for us and you, our valued guest and sincerely hope that you love it as much as we do.

We offer a pre-breakfast beverage delivered to your theme room at 08:30 in the morning and breakfast is served in the dinning room at 09:00. Plan your day’s activities with your new friends over a delicious homemade three course gourmet breakfast. (special diets accommodated with notice)

In the evening you can enjoy the entertainment in our local pub, or for something quieter, soak in our romantic outdoor Hot Tub at the bottom of our 15' waterfall. If you prefer, relax in our guest‘s lounge with a warm inviting fireplace, 42' Cable TV and library with books and games. There is also a table, small fridge, and tea/coffee available in the guest lounge.

Interaction with guests

While serving breakfast in our dinning room we socialize with our guests and answer any question they should have about the B&B, Pender Island or the area. After breakfast the dinning room is closed, but if you need anything we are available by knocking on the kitchen door.

Other things to note

You will be greeted at the gate by our "girls". They may or may not bark, but they are very friendly. The Belgium Shepard is "Venus" and the black one (Shar-Pei / Golden Retriever) is "Katie Mae". They have the run of the house and the yard but are only allowed in the Guest Bedrooms at your invitation and are not allowed at the breakfast table.

Very flexible, hospitable and experienced hosts. Comfortable queen sized bed. Setting is in the woods, lovely but quite dark.

As theses guests wrote: "Private Feedback: This was our first airbnb experience. Thank you very much for your flexibility, breakfast conversation and hospitality. We thought your bed was very comfortable and our bed/bathroom was lovely and clean. We were a bit taken aback by the somber setting and would have appreciated more light and a fan in our bedroom. I knew there were dogs, only I'm very allergic and couldn't sit in your living room. " First off, WHY would you go to a B&B that has dogs if you are "very allergic" to them? (being Physicians you would think they would know better than to put yourself in that element) When they arrived they were told that our dogs were not allowed in their bedrooms unless invited. We were NOT inform of her allergy to dogs, or we would not have allowed our dogs in the guest lounge. We have found that two swag lights and a wall light in the bedroom has been enough light for our average guests. Second off: There are three table lamps and a floor lamp in our guest lounge along with a 48' TV and fireplace. Our dogs visit our guests here, but can be kept out of the room if necessary. Most of our guest enjoy their friendly company. Third off: We have two wall lights in the hallway to the guest rooms, which we keep turned of when the hallway is not used. There is also a light at the top of the stair to the guest lounge (that partly light the hallway) that we keep on day and night when ever there are guest in the house. In conclusion: We advertise our home as a being in a forest setting. There is not a lot of light in the middle of a forest. ( the smoke from the forest fires do not help the day light either)

If you are lucky enough to get to visit Pender Island, Gnome's Hollow is a 'don't miss!' Every square inch of the home was lovingly built by hand as was the landscaping. It is decorated with lots of fun items from all over the world- and quite a collection of gnomes. Their two dogs are so sweet! The breakfasts, made by Tania, are wonderful and nourishing, and Dave is a delight to talk with!
