Gnome's Hollow was a great place to stay on Pender. It was shaded and cool on some of the warmest August days, but we still got lots of natural light in the garden room windows. We loved the hot tub, interesting books in the sitting room (Marcus Aurelius was a favourite), and the…

I had a wonderful stay here. Dave and Tania provide a wonderful traditional bed and breakfast experience, complete with coffee delivered to your room before breakfast and official b&b dogs. Their home is set on a lovely property in the woods. Most of the places I wanted to visit,…

This was a very whimsical wonderful place to stay. The food was great, the bed super comfortable, and the hosts were very patient and accommodating with our doggo. We loved the unicorn and gnome books in the common area, and we really appreciated the generosity of our hosts provi…

Very flexible, hospitable and experienced hosts. Comfortable queen sized bed. Setting is in the woods, lovely but quite dark.

As theses guests wrote: "Private Feedback: This was our first airbnb experience. Thank you very much for your flexibility, breakfast conversation and hospitality. We thought your bed was very comfortable and our bed/bathroom was lovely and clean. We were a bit taken aback by the somber setting and would have appreciated more light and a fan in our bedroom. I knew there were dogs, only I'm very allergic and couldn't sit in your living room. " First off, WHY would you go to a B&B that has dogs if you are "very allergic" to them? (being Physicians you would think they would know better than to put yourself in that element) When they arrived they were told that our dogs were not allowed in their bedrooms unless invited. We were NOT inform of her allergy to dogs, or we would not have allowed our dogs in the guest lounge. We have found that two swag lights and a wall light in the bedroom has been enough light for our average guests. Second off: There are three table lamps and a floor lamp in our guest lounge along with a 48' TV and fireplace. Our dogs visit our guests here, but can be kept out of the room if necessary. Most of our guest enjoy their friendly company. Third off: We have two wall lights in the hallway to the guest rooms, which we keep turned of when the hallway is not used. There is also a light at the top of the stair to the guest lounge (that partly light the hallway) that we keep on day and night when ever there are guest in the house. In conclusion: We advertise our home as a being in a forest setting. There is not a lot of light in the middle of a forest. ( the smoke from the forest fires do not help the day light either)

If you are lucky enough to get to visit Pender Island, Gnome's Hollow is a 'don't miss!' Every square inch of the home was lovingly built by hand as was the landscaping. It is decorated with lots of fun items from all over the world- and quite a collection of gnomes. Their two do…
