Our modern creative space is perfect for your Tacoma getaway. Experience the city from the comfort of our spacious artist's loft. Located within walking distance of the Tacoma Dome! Our location brings access to museums, breweries, culture, and all public transportation. Our loft is spacious with plenty of room to spread out. 2 sleeping areas with all natural premium beds, bathroom with shower, kitchenette, desks, couch- all in an open floor plan. Our loft is sure to inspire your inner artist.

The space
Let your inner artist out with our creative artist's loft. Our studio is spacious, cozy, and totally unique. Our space is an open floor plan and is equipped with two comfy beds, cozy couch, bar top, kitchenette, bathroom, and many work tables. Whether you're trying to get away and write the great American novel, or just need a place to stay while you catch a show at the Tacoma Dome, our loft is perfect for you. We'd love for you to stay, relax, enjoy the city, and get inspired. We are centrally located near downtown Tacoma, just a few blocks from the Tacoma dome, and multiple craft breweries. You are near all public transportation and many restaurants. Our loft is above an artisan Gallery and Tattoo shop, which is very Tacoma. Our building is over 100 years old and boasts a rich history and character. Friendly neighbors in a cool part of the city. The building is well insulated from outdoor noise, but please be aware that you will still hear the everyday sounds of the busy city, the nearby trains, and your downstairs neighbors from time to time. This is an old building in a city environment with city type noise that may continue throughout the day and night. Most guests are not bothered by the noise, but if you are sensitive to city noises, which do include train noise, our loft may not be for you. Private parking is not available, but there is usually lots of free street parking on Puyallup Ave and also along most nearby side streets. There is a 2-hour restriction from 8am-6pm on most of the street, with no restriction overnight or Sundays. There's also a public free parking garage a block away, accessible on 25th street or Puyallup Ave (Tacoma Dome Station). Another option is the Foss marina parking area up the road, Foss landing. It is over the train tracks at 1940 East D street (parking lot is under the highway).
Curious about what we do? We run a small silk screen studio and graphic design company called Shiloh Threads. We create and print our own unique designs, all printed on ethically sourced clothing. We also design and sew guitar straps, camera straps and banjo straps for our other sister company, Island Provisions. We schedule our work days when guests are not staying so you will have the space completely to yourself! We are not present when guests are staying in the loft, but will be available if needed any time by phone, text message, or in person if arranged. Please note: our loft is on the second floor of our building, and is only accessible by stairs.

Guest access
Please relax and enjoy the space. You'll have our loft to yourself and probably won't see us during your stay (though we will be available by phone or Airbnb if you need us). We will provide coffee and a French press, and tea. Small kitchenette with the basics: mini fridge, spacious sink, hot plate, tea kettle, toaster oven, plates, and cookware (great for cooking a small meal, not the best for cooking a giant meal). Unfortunately we are not able to offer private parking, but there is usually lots of free street parking on Puyallup Ave and also along most nearby side streets. Please note: our loft is on the second floor of our building, and is only accessible by stairs. We do not have a traditional TV but we use our desktop computer and our projector as a “TV”. You welcome to use our desktop computer and projector as well. You will also have access to free wifi. If you'd like to use the desktop computer/projector to view movies, your Netflix, your Hulu, etc, feel free. You are welcome to view any of the DVDs we have in the studio. Please do not use the sewing machine or the silk screen printing press. Please do not touch any of the silk screens or the ink (this ink is sneaky and has a tendency to get guests messy...trust us...don't touch ). You are welcome to view our books, please just return them when done. Do not water or move the plants. Help yourself to refreshments in the refrigerator (be sure the refrigerator door is closed snug). Please do not use the adorable little washing machine...sadly, it is broken.

Other things to note
The loft is spacious and is an open floor plan. The building is located on a busy corner of Tacoma and it does get noisy. Trains, trucks, and other vehicles are all nearby and produce noticeable sounds. Our building is well insulated which helps to keep these noises to a minimum. We also provide disposable ear plugs for more peaceful sleeping. When the windows in our loft are shut tight, the noise is much less noticeable. The noise factor is also significantly lessened most nights but noise from trains can still be heard. Most guests find these city sounds add character to the experience and location and are not bothersome, however if you’re sensitive to noise, our loft may not be for you. Please consider if these everyday sounds of the city (cars, trucks, trains, people, etc), is right for you. Our kitchenette is equipped with the basics for cooking a simple and small meal but might not be the best for cooking a giant meal. Also, please note: our loft is on the second floor of our building, and is only accessible by stairs. Location

Tacoma, Washington, United States

We love our unique area of Tacoma. This part of the city is filled with a rich history and is near some of the oldest buildings in our region. Our building is located in Tacoma's Dome district, and is very close to the historic downtown area. You can walk to the Tacoma Dome if needed, it's just a few blocks away. You are near multiple museums including Tacoma Art Museum, Tacoma Glass Museum, the Lemay Car Museum, and the Children's Museum of Tacoma. This building is also near multiple breweries including the WingMan Brewery, Seven Seas Brewery and many other restaurants and pubs. Tacoma's theater district is also very nearby and includes the historic Pantages Theater, the Theater on the Square, Antique Row, and Tacoma Comedy Club. This area also provides a Thursday farmer's market April though September, on Broadway. We are a block away from all public transportation: Tacoma's Link, the Sounder train, and Tacoma's bus depot. We are less than a quarter-mile from the Amtrak station which gives you full access to the entire Northwest region and, by extension, the entire country!

We also design and sew guitar straps, camera straps and banjo straps for our other sister company, Island Provisions. We also have a background in organic farming and Hillary ran an organic farm for about 6 years, Peace of the Earth Farm. Brian has served in the Military, the US Air Force, for almost 2 decades. We care about the environment, the arts, NW Beer, and very good music. We care most about our daughter. When we travel, we usually stay in AirBnBs that are on farms or in creative spaces.

During your stay
You will have our spacious loft entirely to yourself! We work in the studio a few days a week but we generally are not present when guests are in the studio. We will give you your privacy. If we need to get into the studio for any reason, we will contact you beforehand to arrange. However, we don't make a habit of this, and we generally like to leave you in peace to enjoy the space.
