Day by Day Itinerary

Day 1: the adventure begins
After landing at Nadi International airport you are only a 25 min drive before your step on board La Vie at Port Denarau Marina. A little chore to listen to the safety guidelines and then we are are on our way to adventure! Yipee time to soak up the sun and within a very comfortable( 2 - 2 1/2 hour) you are in picture postcard Fiji a hidden anchorage where you can snorkel straight off the boat. If you are feeling energetic you can hike up the top of the island for spectacular views of the Mamanuca and Yasawa Islands. After lunch in this stunning bay, it is only an hour to Naviti in the bottom of the Yasawas (all subject to your time of arrival on La Vie)

today’s schedule of activities

board, and jump in for a swim
trek for amazing views
stand-up paddleboard

Day 2: get wet in crystal clear aqua waters
Rise and shine to a beautiful anchorage, why not start your day with a snorkel and explore 4 reefs on the look out for the giant manta rays. Watch as these graceful creatures glide effortlessly around you and turtles & octopus. Take the stand-up paddle boards and discover deserted beaches. If you are into diving we can organize private dive excursions with excellent local dive companies. You could happily spend several days here, but if you want to keep exploring, less than an hour away you can snorkel on a sunken war plane. Another comfortable (2 hr) hop and you are at Blue Lagoon.

today’s schedule of activities

manta ray snorkel
or organise a dive
or stand-up paddle board to deserted beaches

1pm sunken war plane
or Blue Lagoon

Day 3/4: ooohs & ahhhh it's so .....
Set off early to Blue Lagoon if not already waking up there after a restful night’s anchorage, stand-up paddle board around the blue lagoon, walk around the island with a couple of resort stops for a cold beer if needed! It is a short hop and a skip to Sawa-i-Lau where you can explore the famous caves.

today’s schedule of activities

set to Blue Lagoon
or stand-up paddle board around the lagoon
or island explore

1pm set for Sawa-i-Lau
explore caves

Day 4/5: untouched pure paradise
The lagoon of Sawa-i-Lau is where the adventure starts and the where the the bulk of tourism ends. This is where “Blue Lagoon” was actually filmed. In front of you lies an untouched, remote slice of paradise, alien like lava rocks emerging from stunning turquoise waters, white sandy beaches, amazing reefs with prolific sea life, coupled with warm welcoming bula hospitality. Generally anywhere from here to the top of the Yasawas you will be spoiled with calm anchorages so pretty much you can say “here please for the night”. Guests especially seem to love the remoteness of this part of the Yasawas and usually spend at least two nights here for exploring. (so keep this in mind)

today’s schedule of activities

Morning explore this paradise
or stand-up paddle board to reefs or beach
or snorkeling

1pm set for Somo Village
or stay for 1 more night here in Sawa-i-Lau

Day 5/6: experience Micronesian culture

Day 6/7: sandy bliss
After a relaxed tropical island breakfast and an easy cruise back to the Mamanuca group, you can discover Navadra a magical set of three islands connected by sand beaches.

Day 6/7: surfs ripping!
From here you can explore Monoriki (where the movie Castaway was filmed) or if the surf is pumping experience the exhilaration of watching world famous “Cloudbreak” go off and then be back in Denarau in two hours.

Day 7: all good things must come to an end ...for now...
Your journey wraps up where it began, in Port Denarau Marina. We so hope you have had some amazing awe inspiring moments with us on La Vie, Please keep in touch! we look forward to seeing you again for more exploring sailing, snorkeling, kiting, surfing, and magic sunsets

Getting to Fiji and other travel tips

In the middle of the Pacific Ocean, Fiji may seem far away, but getting here is easy. Fiji Airways, Fiji’s national carrier, has regular flights from many international destinations (Auckland, Christchurch, Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney, Honolulu, Los Angeles, Vancouver and Hong Kong). Jetstar, Air New Zealand, Korean Air, Pacific Blue, V Australia, Air Niugini, Air Vanuatu, Air Caledonie and Our Airlines also fly regularly to Fiji.

Where do we board?
Stays onboard your yacht are suggested to be a Six or Seven-night YOU depart and return at Port Denarau , a quick 30-minute drive from Nadi airport to the marina.

How do I get to Nadi?
A popular getaway spot, and it’s easy to get too. There are several flights daily, and the simplest way to check schedules and airfares, and book your flight, look up flights on the internet or see your travel agent. Nadi International Airport is the main gateway to the country for most travelers, and there are several domestic airports scattered throughout the islands.

How do I get to the yacht?
A quick taxi ride (depending on traffic of course!) approx 35 minutes to Port Denarau, you will need to pay the provider directly. La Vie crew will meet you at the given destination.

Which documents and procedures are required?
You must complete and sign the following documents: charter contract, guests list, and bring passport photocopies.

When do we start having fun?
We tend to operate on a modified version of island-time, so the answer is simple: The idea is to be flexible, fun and as stress-free as possible, and we encourage guests to arrive any time after 9:00am. The sooner you’re aboard, the sooner you can start enjoying the experience.

When do we disembark?
Checkout time at the end of your charter is typically 8:00am, but we’re flexible. Early flight? We’ll get you out of here ahead of schedule. Time to kill on travel day? Please check with us ahead of time, and we’ll do everything we can to simplify your schedule.

What formalities must be completed?
Before your trip, make sure you have all the documents required for your vacation -visa, vaccination certificates, authorizations, etc. Each passenger must have a passport valid at least 6 months after the date of return.

For Fiji a 4 month visa is granted automatically on arrival to visitors from most countries. You needn't do anything other than have a passport that is valid for at least 6 months beyond your stay.

Fiji Duty & Duty Free Concessions

Each passenger of 17 years or more may bring the following goods into Fiji, duty and VAT free, provided they are accompanied and are not for sale:
Cigarettes, not exceeding 250 sticks or
Cigars, not exceeding 250grams net weight or
Tobacco not exceeding 250grams net weight or
Any combination of (1) to (3) above, provided the total net weight does not exceed 250grams
Spirituous Liquors not exceeding 2.25 litres or
Wines, not exceeding 4.5 litres or
Beer, not exceeding 4.5 litres or

This all sounds great, but what if I need a bit of help?
Just get in touch! Our goal is for every guest's experience with us to be a seamless, rejuvenating one. We’re happy to help with travel arrangements as much as we can.

12. The Neighborhood- The Culture -The Vibe:

The following information has been compiled for our charter guests from a variety of sources. We hope you find it useful in getting ready for your charter.

What to Expect:

The Boat:
La Vie, South Pacific offers various catamarans to suit your preferred activities.
Family Standard- 4 cabin is the perfect sized catamaran for a small family or 2 couples
Adventure Standard- 4 cabin + single the perfect sized yacht for those who are wanting to go go go high vibe relaxed yacht, to go surfing & fishing.
Delux - 3 & 4 cabin the perfect yacht for Honeymoon or those who appreciate a spacious refined yacht with all the extras. The focus is on quality thoughout and discretion.
Your catamaran is not a huge super-yacht but she is very roomy (and no head bumping or toes hanging over beds.. unless you are extra tall...)she is like new and much larger than a mono hull (a single hull boat). A catamaran La Vie is very well equipped with her Average Cruising speed is 8 knots, has Chart Plotters (these help us plan where to go and are like a map),& plenty more electronics. The crew are happy to teach or show you all aspects of using the boat. On deck, a sailing vessel can be a bit like an obstacle course, with winches, lines, and other fun things to trip over so you need to be quite nimble and prepared for a few bumps here and there.
La Vie, the perfect choice for family adventures or a group booking.
With a choice of catamarans -with 3 double sized cabins +, there is plenty of room for everyone! All are very well equipped with all the fancy electronic gadgets, and a nice wardrobe of water toys to keep you busy having fun in paradise.

Each cabin is “boat sized”, like living in a mini apartment, you have to climb into bed and this adds to your adventure. We provide you with all your linens and towels for your stay, so you can leave room in your bag to shop for trinklets!
In your cabin you have your have your own wardrobe, it is dinky sized and it will fit around 6 shirts & 3 Dresses so please pack light. Best to buy yourself a duffle bag/backpack or soft sided bag on wheels that can be squished into a draw for storage. Large hard-cased suitcases will restrict the room you have in your cabin.

Bathrooms Showering aboard sailboats is like camping. Fresh water is a precious commodity aboard a boat. We can only take a limited amount of fresh water, the typical cool down is we just jump in the water, then use the on deck shower to rinse with fresh water.
Once a day you can have the luxury of a shower in your ensuite,to pamper yourself

The weather conditions are pleasant, the temperature around 25 during the day. The typical forecast on any given day will have slight cloud cover part of day and sunshine for the rest, the true tropical experience..You could be baking in the sunshine and searching for a wisp of wind or it could be blowing and slightly cooler, the night temperatures vary by only 10 degrees. Fiji is considered to be one of the best cruising grounds in the world for variety of scenery and lots of wonderful protected sailing conditions. Hurricane season runs from November to March.

The primary activities for your vacation will be based from aboard La Vie. These include swimming, snorkeling, paddle boarding , kayaking, sunbathing, relaxing, reading, napping, eating. Your crew can help arrange for ;additional activities; like diving, parasailing, tours and other excursions depending on the island. The cost of these additional activities is not included in your fee.

The itinerary is based on your preferences of activities.

The itinerary will also be flexible to accommodate your schedule and activities. Weather, safety, and other considerations may also affect the itinerary.

It is typically not possible to see everything in one visit. You may need to return again in the future for another charter to see more.

Dining Ashore:

The food aboard is included for 5 evenings of your charter. We encourage you to experience the flavour of the island cuisine at some of the local eateries, soak up the ambiance and culture of the people, your experience could be anything from refined fine dining to a traditional island beach bbq.

You may at times be able to get 'island time...slow on-line' access to the Internet.

With her blend of Lavish Home Comforts & Yacht Performance It is easy to see why a La Vie catamaran is the popular choice for those looking for a fun luxury yacht vacation.

We look forward to meeting you on La Vie!
