A small cottage in the countryside... very close to the historic center of Aix-en-Provence (2.0 km) and hiking trails leading to the Sainte-Victoire mountain.
The space
THE SMALL HOUSE
It is an outbuilding of our house, located on a plot of about 5000 m²
The land has several natural levels.
The small house is located on the lowest of them, surrounded by a planted garden of about 1000 m² which is exclusively dedicated to it.
In the garden, a table for meals, a few deckchairs for relaxation and a swing…
It is a small cabin that we have completely renovated to bring it the comfort of our time!
It is composed of:
- A very comfortable living/kitchen dining room (30 m²) (equipment: tables and stools, sofa, coffee table, library and for the kitchen: induction cooktop, oven, dishwasher, refrigerator, freezer, Nespresso coffee machine, dishes etc… and Wi-Fi access). This room faces west and south, overlooking the garden.
- A small hallway leading to the bedrooms and bathroom and in which there is a large closet (and high storage for suitcases).
- A bedroom (11 m²) with double bed (180 x 200 cm), equipped with a TV (box) and overlooking a small terrace facing east.
- A small shower room (4 m²) equipped with a sink, walk-in shower and toilet;
- Another bedroom (11 m²) also equipped with a double bed (160 x 200 cm) separable into 2 single beds on request and many cupboards, facing south over the garden.
Linens are provided (sheets, towels, dish towels) as well as basic household products (dishwashing liquid, sponge, garbage bag, etc., also iron and ironing board).
We can also provide you with a small crib for children from 0 to 2/3 years old as well as a baby monitor. We even have children ourselves and may be able to help you avoid carrying bulky equipment. Please let us know.
Two parking spaces are available for guests.
We live and work there. We are therefore very present and will be able to answer any questions you may have and help you organize your stay if needed.
But we also know how to stay very discreet if you don't need us!
THE NEIGHBORHOOD
The small house is at the gates of the great site of Sainte-Victoire, territory of Paul Cézanne and the Impressionists.
Many hikes are accessible in the surroundings including remarkable sites such as the Bimont and Emile Zola dams (accessible to families with small children), the Bibémus quarries, the Picasso castle in Vauvenargues, the Tholonet etc…
It is a very quiet residential area, very close to the historic center but with the feeling of being in the countryside.
THE JOURNEYS
- The historic center of Aix-en-Provence is about 2.0 km away
- The small house is located 300 m from a bus stop (no. 6) which runs approximately every 10 minutes, towards the center.
- It is also possible to walk to the historic center. In this case, it will take you about 25 minutes.
- The first shops - greengrocer and fishmonger twice a week, Intermarché, bakery, butcher, café, tobacco & press - are 1.3 km away.
- Rambot polyclinic is 2.0 km away
- Access to highways is about 4 km away (Dir. Nice/Toulon/Aubagne/Marseille/Lyon/Gap…)
- The TGV station is 20 km away, served by a shuttle bus that departs from the bus station in the center of Aix-en-Provence. Bus no. 6 also passes through the bus station.
- Marseille Provence Airport is 30 km away.
RATE
It is suitable for 4 guests maximum.
Additional guests (max. 2) may be considered, but the request must be made in advance. It will be studied on a case-by-case basis and in case of acceptance, will be subject to an additional charge of €25/person (excluding children from 0 to 3 years old).
The rate includes departure cleaning.
