Please SEND A MESSAGE, with the reason of your trip, and do NOT submit a request/reservation (if you submit a reservation I will ask you to cancel it), I will then pre-approve your request once I agree to host you. Please read the entire description and house rules so that most of your questions will be answered. I do not take reservations beyond 6 weeks from today's date due to my schedule. The reason why I am adament about this, is because Airbnb penalizes hosts that "decline" a reservations
The space
Proud and privileged to state that my home has hosted several Airbnb employees, including Co-founder/CEO Brian Chesky, multiple times.
I live in a 2 bedroom condominium and will be offering the second bedroom to my two guests (no more) and will be there full time when guests stay. You will have your own queen-sized bed with the view facing the west (sunset side), plenty of closet space along with your own full bathroom. As a guest, I know one of the most essential factors in staying away from home is getting a good night's sleep, that is exactly why I invested in one of the most comfortable beds for my guests and can assure you that you will sleep comfortably as attested by my guests' reviews. You will also have remote control blinds that you can click to open and close right from the bed!
Location Location Location! Some of the most amazing views and comforts you will find in this city. (High floor to see most of the city, with over 1,440 square feet)
Being on 5th ave has its perks; located literally right across from the Empire State Building, you are situated between Madison Square Garden/Penn Station and Grand Central Terminal. Walk 2 blocks to the east and you have the 6 train (33rd st station), walk 1 block west and you have B,D,M,F and N,R,Q, and Path trains (Herald Square), walk another block past the Mall of Manhattan and you have 1,2,3, A,C,E as well as the LIRR (Long Island RailRoad) and Amtrak trains. It is about a 40-minute commute from both JFK and EWR airports using the trains and much cheaper than using taxis. It is about 25-30 minute commute from LGA airport using a taxi (without traffic).
Not only is 5th avenue world famous for its shopping, you can also walk right out onto 34th street to get your shopping needs. When you are looking to take a break, Central Park, Bryant Park, and Madison Square Park are on the same avenue you will be staying. You will have the best seats in the house if you are here during the 5th avenue parades.
The doorman building is a new/modern construction and located is on a high floor (as you can see from the pictures), away from the street noise as much as possible and has virtually a 300-degree view of the city that is second to none. From the east, you can see Brooklyn, Queens, and Long Island (at night you can even see the headlights of the planes landing at LaGuardia airport in the distance). The best views will be on the balcony (yes, balcony with lounge chairs!) which allows you to see almost all the Iconic attractions from Central Park, Times Square, Madison Square Garden, Hudson Yards, One Vanderbuilt observation deck, JPMorgan Chase, Chrysler building and the Freedom Tower in the Financial district.
The apartment is fully furnished with a large dining table and entertainment system that is equipped with a 55" 3D LED Smart TV (with Netflix and Spotify), 5.1 surround sound system that has Apple Airplay on it, and your room also has a 55” LED tv.) and highest speed internet available in the market (300+ Mbps). The apartment has a full kitchen if you should ever have the desire to cook (although I have to warn you, there are plenty of amazing restaurants just downstairs will easily make your decision for you!). I have also a cat, Vlad, who is a curious and harmless cat and you are more than welcome to play with and give him treats.
There is public parking garage right underneath the building, but on the weekends, street parking is free. There are also public "Citi bikes" stations to rent right on my block if you desire taking one out and go about the city.
If there is anything I can do to make your stay more pleasant, please let me know as I take pride in my home sharing, Cheers!
If you have not used UBER or LYFT (another taxi / private car service app) and would like to get a free $20 or $25 credit for your trips, use the referral code: "y6eif" for UBER and " KYLE215826 " for LYFT after you download the apps and enter the codes.
Legally, I have to state that relating to the use of the space must also be followed (i.e. no sleeping in an area where it would be illegal to do so, such as an attic, cellar, or garage).
During your stay
I am always available for my guest; as you can see from my reviews, I am more than happy to provide insight on things to do, see, eat and enjoy in this city.
Other things to note
Traveling from JFK, LGA and EWR airports:
I always recommend taking public transportation as it is a cheaper alternative and takes about the same time as a taxi.
From JFK: From whichever terminal you land in, you will take the Airtrain (monorail) system, and transfer to the "Long Island Rail Road" (LIRR) "Jamaica Station". From the Jamaica station you will buy a ticket before you board a commuter train and take it one stop into Pennsylvania Train Station (a.k.a. Penn Station). I live two blocks east from there. Total time should be about 45 minutes and cost in total (MTA and LIRR tickets) about $16 each way.
From Newark (EWR): You will take the the Airtrain (monorail) to the NJTransit station and transfer there. You will also need to buy a ticket before you board and will be 1 or 2 stops before you arrive at “New York Penn station” (there is another station in New Jersey call Penn station as well, which is NOT the one you want). Travel is about 45 mins and cost is about $14.
From LGA: There is no direct public transit system in place. You can take a free bus transfer from the airport to the F train and then take the subway to 34st/Hearld Square location, which is then 2 blocks away from me.
P.S.- I accept reservations as far out as 6 weeks in advance due to my schedule (But have also accommodated as late as the same day reservations) . Please do NOT ask for an RSVP MORE than 1.5 months in advance, sorry (anything less is fine). Prices can fluctuate due to demand and are more current closer to the dates of stay.
