Welcome to The Hatch, our secret escape in Muskoka. Located 2 hours north of the GTA, follow the winding Fish Hatchery Road and arrive to the best views of the small and serene High Lake. Step inside our cottage and be welcomed by the sunny south facing exposure, tall ceilings, and lake views from every room. With the back deck perched 40 feet above the lake, you’ll be spending most of your time outside and if swimming is your thing, venture down to our dock to the clear sand-bottom waters.

Our group just rented the Hatch cottage and had a great experience. High Lake was a very quiet, peaceful lake with very little boat traffic. We used the kayaks every day and had picnics on the little island, ate wild blueberries, checked out the waterfall at the end of the lake and the looping hike that heads west from the waterfall, jumped off cliffs etc. We also loved the Friday morning market in Rosseau! The cottage description is accurate and Ryan was very responsive in his communications.

The Hatch is absolutely amazing! They have done a phenomenal job redoing the entire place. The lake is beautiful and there are small islands where you can go and swim and pick wild blueberries. We also went swimming in the nearby waterfall which was kind of amazing. The only suggestion I would make would be to add some curtain or blinds to the bedrooms. Other than that I would highly recommend anyone to stay at this place.

The Hatch is brilliantly located above the beautiful High Lake with some lovely design touches and a water view from almost every room. We spent our days relaxing on the deck and the pontoon with the kids loving the kayaks, pedalo and larger boat. We rowed over to the far side of the lake for rock jumping and to visit the waterfall and loved the proximity to Rosseau and Port Carling for the less sunny days. Thank you for a great stay!
