The space

In a quiet little hamlet a few kilometers from the centre of Viñales rests Casa Felicia. Felicia, José Luis and Nancy are wonderful hosts looking forward to sharing their culture with you. Here you will be able to enjoy delicious home cooked Cuban meals made with organic ingredients, many of which are grown in their own backyard. At breakfast you will try fruits picked fresh from the property: papaya, plantains, mangoes, limes, guava, mandarines, mamey, oranges and chirimoya. If you arrive at the right time, you might even be lucky enough to try the honey José Luis himself collects from the nearby honeycombs.

Very nice place with great hosts who care about your stay. Be warned though that there are a lot of animals running around (dogs, chickens, goats, etc.) and they will wake you up several times per night. Expect to eat very good traditional cuban food (although slightly too much?) and be warned that you should speak at least some spanish, because the hosts don't seem to speak english. All in all, if you're looking for a nice home away from the crowds and you don't mind the animals, this is the place to go for a genuine cuban experience.

Felicia, her son Jose Luis and her daughter Nancy welcomed us with open arms in this charming familial casa. Their house is located in the jazmines community, it is a 5 minute drive from vinales city center, but 5 minutes walk from the hotel los jazmines where you can have wifi and use the pool for 3 CUC per person. Jose Luis organised for us a great horse riding excursion in the vinales valley. He also helped us a lot with taxi and trips to other city. They are really a great family, as nice as can be. We really loved staying there.

Felicia, Jose Luis and Nancy were the most wonderful hosts! Directions to their home from the airport was easy (we received lots of info around their location and accommodations prior to arrival). We arranged lunch to be ready when we arrived, and sure enough the table was set with the most delicious food and fresh juices! The room was very comfortable and included a private bathroom and AC unit, which helped immensely with the hot weather. Their neighbors were friendly and we loved how many animals roamed around the gardens. It was easy to arrange almost anything with Felicia and Luis throughout our trip. Whether it was arranging breakfast, dinners, tours and taxis, Luis was very quick to assist with everything we needed. The location was FANTASTIC! The house is a quick 5 min walk from Hotel Jazmines, where you could get access to WiFi, a pool, great pina coladas and the most incredible view of the Vinales Valley. A quick colectivo to the central town of Vinales was about a 7 min drive. We cannot recommend the warmth and hospitality of Casa Felicia enough. We hope to return and stay with them again sometime!

Thank you so much for the wonderful time in Vinales! We really enjoyed the tranquility and the rural area. The hosts put a lot of effort in making our stay as nice as possible. They prepared good breakfasts and a rich dinner. Right next to the hotel "Los Jazmines" is a viewing point with the most spectacular view of the valley! It is only a 8 minute walk away. The family is absolutely heart-warming! All the best, Katharina and Florian

This is literally one of the best places to stay. It's outside vinales and gives you a taste of real Cuban families in the area. It's basically a farm with chicken and baby pigs running around. Luis was kind enough to set up a horseback ride through the plantation that is unlike anything you'll read online. Our guide showed up to the house with three horses. We didn't have to go anywhere and we left when we were ready. Just the two of us. No group tour. Breakfast and dinner were amazing. Felicia is an amazing cook. It's way better than anything you'll find in town. The community is amazing and will make sure you are safe. They don't speak English but Dior (their neighbor) does and can help you communicate if need be. The room was clean and you have your own bathroom. Trust me. Stay here.

My boyfriend and I were welcomed to Felicia's home with smiles and an amazing dinner even after our bus from Trindad was much later than they were expecting. Felicia, with her daughter Nancy and son Jose Luis live in the tranquil valley of Vinales about 8 minutes outside of the city center by car. But trust me, you will want to spend your whole time in their community, just a 5 min walk from breathtaking views of the valley and the coffee and tobacco farms (as well as a wifi spot at a walkable hotel) There are plenty of nice airbnb's in town, but if you're looking to get away from the numerous tourists in the city center and the noises that come with that and actually be in a true Cuban community, this is your spot. Our room was clean and spacious with wonderful AC. Felicia's cooking was the best in our two weeks in Cuba-we ate breakfast ($4 CUC), lunch and dinner every day at home! Their porch is where you will find great conversations, the random pig or chickens scurry by, and friendly neighbors walking by happy to say hello! Felicia and her family helped us arrange taxis, a horse riding/coffee/tobacco farm tour excursion and a bus to Cayó Leviso (a gorgeous white sand beach about 45 min away). My Spanish is alright and my boyfriend does not speak much Spanish, but we had no problems communicating everything needed with the family. We highly recommend their lovely home. Gracias Felicia, José Luis, y Nancy por todo! :)

Very friendly and welcoming family! A highlight on our trip to Cuba was to stay at their place. Perfect spot out of town away from all other tourists. Remember your dictionary, if you arent fluent in spanish:-) The food is really great, so eat at the house. The pina coladas as well!
