This charming, spacious apartment is a straight shot from downtown Chicago. A 20-min train ride will deliver you within blocks of Millennium Park, Museum Campus and Michigan Ave, or stay put and enjoy the quaint, artsy vibe of Oak Park with bookstores, coffee shops, a gourmet grocery store and every type of cuisine within walking distance. Highlights include a parking space, sun room, full kitchen, back porch, imaginative wall tapestries, stereo, many a good book and two adorable felines.
Enjoy privacy, peace and quiet throughout this spotless, 7-room flat.
The location offers the best of both worlds: the cozy, neighborhood-feel of Oak Park with downtown Chicago just a short train or car ride away.
You'll have a private bedroom plus full kitchen, toaster oven, coffeemaker, water filter, condiments, towels, soap & shampoo, pillows, blankets and sheets, stereo, guides to the area & personalized recommendations from your host! Plus, enjoy Midwestern hospitality in the form of complimentary goodies such as coffee, tea and chocolates.
The bedroom has a new queen mattress, and there's room for an additional guest to cozy up on the couch (just let me know). There are plenty of open shelves for guests in the bedroom, plus two rooms to choose from for fresh air - sun room and back porch - and multiple common areas.
Interaction with guests
I'm a native downtown Chicagoan, so I'm always happy to share local recommendations! I'm friendly, communicative and easygoing. I'll be staying in the sun room while you visit but will definitely stay out of your hair. If you need anything, I'll always be reachable by phone or text!
También, hablo español así los huéspedes de habla hispana son especialmente bienvenidos. People from all backgrounds and lifestyles are welcome in my home!
Other things to note
Depending on the season, I have a portable air conditioner or space heater for guests in the bedroom. The other rooms aren't air conditioned but have great air flow. There are radiators throughout the apartment that reliably heat the place during winter months.
Also, I have a portable steamer to share in lieu of an iron, just let me know if you need it! Washer and dryer are in the basement of the building, which I'm happy to show you as well.
This is a quiet, family apartment building. Feel free to put on some music but no parties please. Always keep the front and back doors locked, and please remove your shoes once you enter. No more than 4 people are allowed inside at all times, and smoking is only allowed on the back porch. If you're unsure about anything or have a special request, just ask!
I'm fun and easygoing. Born and raised in downtown Chicago, I love city travel but enjoy quaint towns and journeys into nature too. I'm adventurous and like meeting new people. I'm into social justice, music and art, world cultures, writing and animals.
