Glenreagh the south western gateway to the Clarence Valley, is a half hour drive along the Orara Way from Grafton (in the north) and Coffs Harbour (to the south east), through the picturesque Orara Valley. As you travel north west from Coffs you will pass through the towns of Karangi, Coramba and Nana Glen before you come across the village of Glenreagh nestled between the hills on the banks of the Orara River. Coming from Grafton you will drive through country abundant with native flora and fauna. My husband (Ross) and I were wandering aimlessly around in our early retirement wondering what to do when we picked up a real estate brochure while having coffee in a quaint little NSW town called Glenreagh. We both spotted the old 1923 Freemason’s Hall for sale around the corner and our curiosity got the better of us. The hall had not been used for a couple of years and looked very much unloved. That was about to change with our shared vision of its transformation into a lovely country style homestead. This was the first time Ross and I had attempted a building renovation of this type. Our friends and relatives told us we were crazy but now they are as awestruck as we are with our beautiful 4 bedroom home. We have had the most amazing journey working sympathetically with this old historic building and its enduring charm that we could see from the outset. We are now excited about our next adventure….a boutique B&B.
