We had a wonderful stay in El Castillo. The house and views were amazing. Out of the way enough to be quiet but close to a lot of great stuff to do. Definitely helpful to have a 4 wheel drive vehicle to get to the property. We had breakfast at their store one morning and it was amazing. Thanks again!

We loved this house, the drive in was a bit hairy only because we arrived after dark. The view is amazing, and the neighborhood was a mix between residential and rentals. There is quite a bit to see/do within walking distance. Thomas and Anita were wonderful, ensuring that we arrived and that we found the lanterns during a power outage. They cooked us an amazing breakfast too.

Stunning views with abundant wildlife! Awesome wrap around porch and a very clean and well kept interior. There are tons of things to do nearby and also lots of great places to eat within walking distance. Would definitely recommend to anyone that wants to check out the area!

The house is bigger than we thought and its actually have huge potential to be a fantastic house. The view here was amazing. You are able to have a great view of the late, and sunrise. The area is very quiet aside. The porch is huge and wrap around the house. I hope Tomas will some lounge chair there or on the grass so you can full enjoy the beauty and scenery There are a few restaurant in the neighborhood. You are able to walk but keep in mind you are at the top of the hill so it is steep. The small portion of the road is unpaved and gravel, so it is a bit hard to walk. Do have flash lights with you in case of brown out, or if you plan on walking to the restaurants at night. La Ventanita served amazing mexican food. Their Burrito and Tico Bowl was tasty and local pricing. Do go early as they will sell out. Food is cook fresh so expect to wait alittle This might be improved by the time next rental takes place. A small portion of the road to the house from town is unpaved and its really rough and steep. Highly suggest to have a solid 4 wheel drive to get here. The living room is huge and would be great if a more comfortable couch is available. Also maybe TV might be nice to have. Wifi is spotty. Someone had mentioned the lacked of spice or basic cooking materials. Tomas did took note of those reviews and checked-in with us if he could send some to us. We had suggested better pots and pans be added to replace the older ones. The heating plates on the stove take a whilst to heat up. Overall we love the place for the peace and quiet. Do keep in mind that it is more remote.

Hands down 100% worth it! Would definitely go back. The home has a wrap around newly constructed balcony with an unbelievable view, we felt safe, every one treated us with respect. The home was clean, and there are 2 bedrooms upstair, each with their own shower and bathroom, one of the rooms has AC, the other a fan system but honestly in april/may at least, we didnt need the AC. Make sure you try Hannah and Thomas' food, they should be on a future Chef's Table episode! My goodness, what ideas those two have flowing through their minds. we truly loved it!
