Warm, vibrant, and charming home with lots of windows to let in natural light, saltillo tiles, & AC (a plus considering most homes in Tucson have a swamp cooler). Centrally located, I’m very close to University of Arizona and the lively downtown and about 20 mins from the airport.
Comfortable room with king size bed, desk, and a walk-in closet. There is a washer and dryer for your use. Fresh linens and towels provided.
My place is ideal for couples, solo adventurers, and business travelers.
My cozily decorated, spacious private room provides guests with comfortable living and luxurious touches. The room includes a king size bed with fresh linens, a working space, and a walk-in closet. The bedroom is carpeted while the rest of the house is saltillo tile.
The hallway bathroom has a bathtub. It's fully stocked with basic toiletries and towels.
There is a washer and dryer available for your use.
Many highly recommended restaurants are nearby or guests can use the full kitchen to enjoy a meal at home. I have a coffee machine in the kitchen for your use as well. Coffee and creamer are provided. Feel free to use the utensils, plates, bowls, glasses, coffee cups, pots/pans, and appliances (including a gas stove). I politely ask you to dispense waste and clean your dishes. You can store groceries in the fridge/freezer as well.
If there are three guests in your group, the third person can sleep on either a comfortable futon or on a queen air mattress in the living room.
Guests have access to the kitchen, washer/dryer, living room, and lots of board games. There is a locking outdoor shed for storage, if needed. Guests also have access to high speed WiFi, a nice sized TV and Apple TV with Netflix, HBO Go, and Hulu.
The other two bedrooms as well as the sun room (which is occupied by my dogs when I am not home) are off-limits.
Interaction with guests
I'm always working and/or traveling, so I may see you or may not, but the puppies are always home to greet you. You may hang out and chat if I am around or if you would rather relax after a long day of travel you may do that as well. Just make yourself at home. If I'm not home, I'm always a text away if you need anything.
I am very familiar with the local restaurants and bars. I love showing people around, just ask!
Other things to note
I have three medium-sized dogs, Febe, Emmy, and Neve who are very friendly and love all the attention they can get from the guests! They tend to bark excitedly at new people at first but will quickly quiet down. They will stay in the sun room when I am not present.
Please note there are two exterior cameras in the front of the house. It in no way infringes upon the expectation of privacy in these public areas.
Some common courtesies that I ask of my guests include the following:
- ALWAYS lock the front door when you leave the premises
- do not let my dogs out of the sun room
- leave the place as you found it: please clean up after yourself (dishes, garbage, etc.)
- no visitors without permission
- no smoking
PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE VALUABLES IN OR ON THE CAR. As nice as I am, and as safe as my home and neighborhood are, I cannot control the occasional fool who may see an opportunity to swipe an item.
Thank you and I hope you enjoy your stay in beautiful Tucson!!
Originally from Phoenix, I have lived in Tucson since 2015. I'm a professional with no kids and three dogs. I am a professor at the University of Arizona as well as Pima Community College. I also teach in Siena, Italy every summer. I love every aspect of what I do.
I enjoy traveling, cooking, wine/beer/food, exploring with my three dogs, working out, hiking, learning new languages, hanging out with friends, and reading. International travel is a huge passion of mine, and I welcome visitors from around the globe!
I’m a pretty open, friendly sort and am always interested in meeting new people.
