Ask for long list of house rules, quiet hours, rigid checkout, wear slippers at door. We paid for 2 nights, but my family did not want to go back the second night, afraid they might miss a rule, and what might happen if they arrived late after an event. We forgot to get the ke…

Response from Jiaona:
Hi Laurel, I am so sorry that you felt this way! Since your girls didn't stay the second night and left with the keys, we were worried that perhaps they had taken the keys with them by accident and we wanted to accommodate our next guests, who were checking in that evening. We didn't mean to stress you or your family out! We do have a no shoes inside the house rule (as noted in both our description and our public house rules). However, we don't mandate slippers. My parents actually provide slippers as part of their culture, as a gesture of hospitality :) (so people's feet don't get cold). I'm so sorry that was interpreted as a rule. We would love to have you or your family stay with us again. Again, our apologies that you felt anything other than welcome!

Lovely home in a quiet neighborhood, and you have two bedrooms and a bathroom to yourselves, away from the owners' living quarters. The home hosts are delightful and go out of their way to make you feel welcome. They offered us grapefruit and oranges from their backyard trees -…
