The Rosy Boa is a stylish little JT bungalow with colorful views of the Bartlett Mountains and the National Park. Backyard desert vibes are welcoming and relaxing, while inside, vintage pieces blend with modern comforts. There is a super mini-split A/C and heat system, a unique kitchenette with a full-size kitchen cooking set-up, a luxurious deep tub, soft towels and a comfy queen-sized bed. The deluxe fridge/ freezer is available for your exclusive use.

The space

Located just 6 minutes from the restaurants and cute shops in downtown Joshua Tree, and 3.5 miles further to the West entrance of JTNP, this lovingly restored bungalow offers a vintage-paneled bathroom with a deep soak tub, on-demand hot water heater, high pressure shower head and clean water from Joshua Basin Water District. You may want to bring slippers or warm socks for the ceramic tile floor as the weather gets cooler.

No need to worry about soaps, shampoo and lotions. They're all here as well as extra luxurious towels to help you unwind from a long drive or plane trip.

There is a fully functional kitchenette with an induction cooktop and stainless cookware, herbs and spices, dinnerware, glassware and cutlery, champagne glasses, as well as a blender for smoothies and a dependable toaster oven.

A French press and coffee grinder for brewing a cup of organic, locally roasted Joshua Tree Coffee Co coffee (you can smell it in the air downtown when they're roasting!) and fragrant organic teas are complimentary. There are 3 outdoor areas for you to enjoy that surround the bungalow. The private entryway has space to park your car if you wish, or just sit in the shade under the eaves and take in the view when the temps are hot.

The rear yard has a shady lounging area under two beautiful mulberry trees and a festive fire pit. The third area is the enclosed porch with attached BBQ patio and bar space.

Guest access

The guest bungalow is a separate home on your host's property and is completely private. Guests are able to park in the driveway and access the bungalow through a separate entryway. There is an enclosed porch that houses a full-sized fridge/freezer and plenty of space for storing luggage or equipment. There is a screen door that leads to a BBQ patio and courtyard.

It is a perfect "home base" for couples and solo adventurers who want to take advantage of all that the high desert has to offer while relaxing in a quiet location. Close to Joshua Tree National Park, thrift store and vintage shopping, restaurants, hiking, certified farmer's market in town on Saturdays (8 am-1 pm) and wonderful music and nightlife at Pappy and Harriet's in Pioneertown and the local Joshua Tree Saloon. Highly recommend both!

Interaction with guests

I completely respect your privacy but am also readily available for you by text or Airbnb messaging. Please consider this your home away from home and enjoy!

Other things to note

Refuse pick-up (some noise) is on Friday mornings about 8 am.

Lori's place was perfect for us. A small space but well laid out and private. Enough space to cook and eat, lounge a bit. The bed was comfy and the bath is DEEP. We easily got to Joshua Tree park from there and other things in town.

So happy to have you and Mark stay here Caitlin. Thanks so much for your review and I'm happy the end of your road trip worked out well. They left the bungalow spotless and are welcome back on their next adventure!

Lori's little cabin was fantastic. My boyfriend and I really enjoyed the place and it's amenities. It is very clean and cozy - just a nice home to come to after a long day of hiking/driving/travelling ect. The location was very close to shops and restaurants as well as one of the entrances into Joshua Tree Park. Lori was very helpful with the check in process and responsive when help was needed. We will definitely be coming back!

Lori was an exceptional host and very welcoming! It was so easy to communicate with her, and my boyfriend and I really appreciated that she showed us around and even let us drop our things off before check-in time because we had places to be. We enjoyed coming back to this airbnb each night as it was so clean and cozy! It really had everything you could possibly need, right down to locally roasted coffee (which was amazing to wake up to). Very accessible, not too far off the main road but further enough out to enjoy the peaceful stars and desert landscape. I felt safe and right at home. Thank you Lori!!!

Lori provided clear instructions and offered to provide local suggestions. The space was cozy and comfortable, and we enjoyed French press coffee in the yard in the morning. I would highly recommend Lori to anyone looking for a space to stay in Joshua Tree.

Lori's place was perfect for our weekend trip to Joshua Tree. The bungalow is adorable and has all the essentials - dishes, a french press and coffee, an awesome bath tub, and air conditioning! Lori was such a great host - she sent us hiking and dining recommendations before we arrived and made herself available if we needed anything during our stay. We loved our time at Lori's place and in Joshua Tree!

Lori was a great host and her room on offer was indeed private. A small studio but perfect as a place to lay your head at night. She was very accommodating and also helped us with extra sheets when we needed them. Easy to get along with and she respected our privacy as well! 100% recommend!

I've lived all over the world and have been on more adventures than I can count, but find that Joshua Tree really feels like my home now. I've spent the past 10 months or so fixing up my little house and the Airbnb bungalow. I was the original floral vendor for in LA and Altadena Farmers Market. I'm mostly inspired by the desert, color and nature, and how they make me feel. Can't wait to begin selling my floral works here in the magical Mojave high desert!
My life motto, respectfully gleaned from a West African saying is: Nature is the silent witness of intuition.
