The Art House is perfectly located - a minute's walk up the hill for great cafes, bars and speciality shops on Ponsonby Road, a minute's walk down the hill to the 150 year old Cav Gastropub.
There's off-street parking for 4 cars but the Inner and OuterCity Link buses go right by the door and will take you to Britomart (trains and ferries), Silo Park or the CBD in 10 minutes.
Great for holidays, events or business. Come and enjoy a slice of kiwiana in the iconic Ponsonby zone.
The Art House oozes charm and character, with the warmth of an early 1900's gem that's been tidied up but not tarted up. A work of art in itself. It has essential mod-cons such as flat screen smart TV and Sky plus Sky Sport as well as large rooms and high ceilings.
The flipside is that there's no ensuite bathroom or large designer kitchen but you can toss to see who sleeps in the king bedroom that's 5.7m x 3.6m.
The Art House has "affordable art", not investment art and all kiwi of course. If you want to take a slice of kiwiana home you can buy from Endemicworld on Ponsonby Rd or Smythe Galleries in Jervois Rd.
The "backyard" of the cottage has parking space for 4 vehicles. Access is via the shared driveway to the LHS of the cottage, as you face it, or via a really convenient laneway at the back that runs between Wood Street and Margaret Street.
The whole house is yours:
King Bedroom - includes large table, chairs and stereo and opens onto balcony
Queen Bedroom 1 - also opens onto balcony
Queen Bedroom 2 - window only
Dining room - seats 6
Lounge - with smart TV and sound bar
Bathroom - with washer and dryer
Toilet - separate room from bathroom
Interaction with guests
Please let me know ahead of time if you have any specific needs and I will try to accommodate those.
For Business Travellers the cottage can be customised for business purposes.
Breakout space: A separate dining room with 6 chairs
Presentation space: A large open area with whiteboard
Meeting space: A large boardroom table in the king bedroom can become an 8 seat conference table or theatre style seating for meetings (with the bed removed).
Other things to note
The location of the cottage is great but it is on a main road so if you are a light sleeper and traffic noise will disturb your sleep, it may not be the place for you.
