The whole experience with these people was like a nightmare. We needed an elegant apartment for our friends who came to visit us in Budapest . They came with their 2 year old child. One day before our friends came, Janos confirmed us that we could do the check-in earlier than usual, at 1 pm. We came at 1 pm at the apartment and nobody was there ; not only that nobody was there, but nobody answered the phone, as well. After many calls with no answer, a woman answered the phone and let us know that Janos was not in the country and that she takes care of everything for him. The lady was very confused ... she said she doesn't remember having confirmed to us the check-in at 1 pm ... that she has more apartments and is busy. Having said that, she promissed to meet us at 2:30 pm and let us in the apartment. By 3 pm nobody had called us yet and again, they wouldn't answer their phone. At 4 pm someone came with the key and let us in - it wasn't Janos,it wasn't the lady we spoke to, it was someone else, who didn't even know what floor the apartment was.
The night before our friends left, we wrote a text to the lady, asking where to leave the key and the only answer we got back was 'hi'.
I don't know if all this atitude was an exception but judging by our experience with these people, we don't think they share the Airbnb values.
We chose this location because it was near the place we live and because the apartment's description and photos convinced us that it is a fancy and luxury apartment. The reality is an apartment that hasn't been renovated, it is old and smells very bad, but has new furniture. Excepting the area the apartment is not worth half the money they ask. Had we known, we would have chosen a hotel room at the same price and would have been better! The bathroom is very very very small ! The kitchen a little bigger than the bathroom. The bedroom much smaller than it looked in the photos.
