Friendly hosts welcoming people from all walks of life to our shared home in a quiet campus neighborhood. Saves hassles of driving/parking for events like football games + gives opportunities for beautiful walks to campus/downtown (~10min), & Beaver Stadium (1.5 miles, ~25min). There is also a game day shuttle. 2nd floor private bedroom provides comforts such as AC, gel memory foam mattress topper & blackout curtains for an excellent night of sleep. Coffee, breakfast foods, & parking provided.
There are lots of things to love about this space! If you have additional questions, please send me an inquiry. Also, I love having return guests, so please inquire ahead for a reduced price for subsequent stays.
In this private bedroom there is a full size Ikea sleeper sofa with a Serta 3" cooling gel memory foam mattress topper for extra comfort (sleeps two comfortably). It can also be converted back into a couch + chaise lounge for relaxing/reading/working during the day. Additionally, you will have access to the closet for hanging clothes and storing your suitcase + a desk is available for you to use. True to its name, this bedroom receives a great deal of sunshine first thing in the morning and also throughout the afternoon. If you would like to sleep in though, there are blackout curtains that can be drawn.
For summer months, there is a ceiling fan for maximal air flow, as well as an optional floor fan if you would like. I have a window air conditioning unit for (typically July, and August, sometimes September). Please note however there is not air conditioning in the rest of the house because it tends to maintain a reasonable temperature even during the summer.
The shared bathroom is located across the hall and stocked with fluffy towels, washcloths, shampoo, conditioner, and soap. The shower itself has good water pressure with 3 settings to choose from. If you forget any bathroom supplies, I have a few other essentials on hand.
The kitchen is also well-equipped for any cooking you'd like to do during your stay. I will do my best to have space in the fridge cleared, and can also make additional room if needed. Please just clean-up after yourself :)
I also provide coffee and breakfast foods such as bread, eggs, and fresh fruit to get your day started off on a good note.
In most cases, I can offer 1 (uncovered) parking spaced assigned to my apartment on non-event days (when street parking is not permitted), or street parking when it's free for events such as football games and graduation. For parties traveling with more than one car during a non-football/graduation/Arts Fest day(s), please get in touch, as I've gathered some information about alternative nearby parking options and prices that you might find helpful.
Check-in is currently listed at 4pm due to my work schedule. If you need different accommodation for check-in or check-out, please get in touch. I try my best to be as accommodating as possible!
GAME DAY SHUTTLE-
Beaver Stadium is within walking distance to my place (1.5 miles), but if you prefer, there is also a game day shuttle that picks up a block from my house, with a reasonably priced fare of $2 per trip.
Although this is an older apartment that shows a bit of wear and tear, I do my best to keep it clean and tidy. I also take pride in the fun/unique artwork and furniture. I love coming home after a long day of work, and hope that you too will enjoy all the great things this space has to offer.
If you choose to book with us, please include in your message a few details such as who you are (and who your guest is if you aren't traveling solo), what you're up to in State College, and why this listing appealed to you :)
Guests will have access to the listed bedroom, the shared bathroom across the hall and common areas including the living room, kitchen, and dining room.
There are many fun things to do in State College, including the night life scene. I just ask that you please leave the party downtown. I can guarantee a quiet and respectful atmosphere in the apartment, especially during quiet hours, and ask that guests also do the same :)
For warmer months, there is a courtyard in the back (accessed by a doorway from the kitchen), that could be fun for a picnic or soaking up the sun. If this is of interest, please let me know, and I can provide a picnic blanket and/or lawn chairs. There are also hiking trails nearby - many with beautiful vistas - swimming areas, the arboretum, wineries, breweries, caves, and so much more to make your trip memorable.
Interaction with guests
Given my busy work and travel schedule I may or may not be around very much during your stay. When I am around though, I genuinely enjoy interacting with/ hosting my airbnb guests, but am also conscientious of your privacy. If our schedules mesh, I'm usually up for a board game, cooking a meal together and/or chatting over a tea or drink, if that's of interest to you :)
Other things to note
Please note that the other bedroom in my apartment is also listed, but I'm only able to rent one room at a time. Both are listed so that prospective guests can choose which room best suits their interests :)
I'm always looking forward to hosting great people. I can't guarantee I can reduce the price (since I often try to price on the low end anyways), but I welcome individuals to make a case for a lower budget (I may even be willing to barter if you are an artist or have other cool skills!).
- - In an effort to keep the apartment clean and comfortable, I ask that guests please take off their shoes at the front door.
- - I am a graduate student, and therefore very much value my sleep. Quiet hours are from 11:00pm-7:00am on weekdays and from 12:00am-8:00am on weekends, but please feel free to come and go from the apartment as you please.
- -Please wash your dishes/plates when you are finished with them
- -If you find anything unsuitable about the space, please let me know by phone/text/email and I will do my best to resolve the issue asap
- -No additional guests please

Hi I'm Libby. I am en route to getting my PhD in quantitative psychology at Penn State. I love to cook, ride my bicycle, alpine ski, drink Moscow Mules, play board games, and travel with my boyfriend Nathan and our friends. My favorite travel souvenirs are postcards and local sweets (totally a guilty pleasure!). While New Zealand is currently at the top of my travel bucket list, my favorite place to travel right now is home to Wisconsin to visit my family =)
