Welcome to Friese Wergea, located within cycling distance of Leeuwarden, the Alde Feanen National Park, and the water sports village of Grou. Welcome also to our old farmhouse, where part of the former stable has been transformed into a charming B&B. It features unique décor, with plenty of art on the walls and a well-stocked bookcase.
The b and b is located separately and closed off from the main house. Private entrance, private bedroom and private bathroom. There is one B&B room. Breakfast included.

The space
Part of the stable of the old farmhouse, which previously housed the cows and later in the 80s was home to Galerie Toonbeeld, has now been transformed into an atmospheric B&B with still a lot of art on the wall and beautiful books in the bookcase. From the stable, the old ribbon is still easily recognizable. Guests have access to a cozy living area with a large dining/work table and chairs, a sitting area with a sofa and armchair, a television with Netflix and YouTube, a radio, Wi-Fi internet, and coffee/tea making facilities including pods, as well as a refrigerator and microwave. In the bedroom there is a double bed that can be transformed into two single beds. Het Zevende Leven is a wonderful place to relax, enjoy nature in the Alde Feanen and take walks and bike rides. The beautiful city of Leeuwarden is close by and there are good public transport options. In short, a place where you can feel at home, alone or with your partner, and in any season.
A hearty breakfast is included.

Guest access
You have a private cozy living room, bedroom and bathroom. When the weather is nice, you can enjoy the sunny garden. The b&b has a private entrance.
ONE FULL BREAKFAST IS INCLUDED

Other things to note
Don't have transportation? We lovingly pick up our guests from Leeuwarden train station.
Wergea is the heart of Friesland. You can get anywhere. Within cycling distance of Leeuwarden, Grou, Sneek and Eernewoude. On April 26, 1888, Ate Kamsma, a carpenter from Wargaaster, completed the construction/renovation of this farmhouse. We found a piece of wood with his signature on the back of the bed bulkhead. Now, some 140 years later, the result of his work still stands proudly!
After serving as a farm, a clog shop, an agricultural store, a greengrocer's, a gallery, and a studio, the building has now entered its seventh life.
The area is ideal for all kinds of water recreation such as sailing, swimming, paddle boarding, rowing and much more. Eernewoude and Grouw are within cycling distance. Wergea is a great base for trips to the Ijsselmeer towns such as Workum, Hindeloopen, Staveren and of course the Wadden Islands Ameland, Schiermonnikoog, Terschelling and Vlieland.

Neighbourhood highlights

The beautiful Frisian village of Warga (Wergea) is known from the book "Afke's Tiental" by Nienke van Hichtum. In Warga there is a small marina and the "standing mast route" runs along the village. Across the village runs the Wergeaster feart, an attractive alternative sailing route from the Frisian Lakes to North Friesland and the Wadden Sea. It's always busy with a lot of boat traffic. Leeuwarden, with its historic city center, is an 8-minute drive away. In Leeuwarden, there are many events in Leeuwarden. In 2018, Leeuwarden was the cultural capital of Europe. The village houses an artisanal bakery, supermarket, pizzeria, the famous restaurant Oan Table, and the new Grand Café Jan, and the new Grand Café Jan.

Also in winter it is good to spend time in Wergea! The Seventh Life is not only a good place to read a book, it is also a place to write one..... we think! Our bookcase is well stocked and offers more than 7 lives.

In addition to the cozy hustle and bustle in Leeuwarden, there is also a lot to experience and see from Wergea for peace and nature seekers. Cycling and walking in the nature reserve de Alde Feanen at Eernewoude! Searching for the sea eagles, otters, foxes, and deer. Visiting the harbor of Harlingen, Waddendijk, the outdoor dyke land overlooking the fantastically beautiful Wadden Islands and of course a day to one of the islands is very easy to do.
