Beautiful 1 bedroom, Victorian brick, end terraced, workers cottage in a rural setting, sited in the picturesque old part of the village. The cottage is shared with a loving low maintenance sleepy cat who requires snuggles & feeding. The cottage offers easy access to Stratford, Warwick, the Cotswolds & the surrounding areas. Come and enjoy a variety of wildlife, heritage sites & numerous gourmet pubs. This is a small country retreat with everything on your door step.
My small yet cosy cottage is rustic with original features and full of character. With its low ceilings and steep cottage stairs it is a relaxing space. My home filled with memories collected from my travels so I do hope you enjoy the warmth and security it provides me. Please use my home as it were your own and enjoy your stay, I am sure Binky will be a good host! He does go out on his own accord using the cat flap and is out most of the night and comes in the early hours normally curling up on the end of the bed or by the bedroom radiator.
The Cottage has its own private garden area which is gated. Access is gained not through the front door on the street but via the green side gate which leads to a rear courtyard garden and back door. There is an outhouse at the bottom of the garden which will be locked storing my personal belongings. There is an outdoor secure box for back door key, I will send you a code before your arrival.
The courtyard is a shared right of access, which is rarely used by the next door neighbour to gain access to their garden or to wheel their bikes through.
The neighbours are very friendly, whilst always giving me privacy they are always happy to help if you have any queries.
Interaction with guests
If I am not around to welcome you I will leave the key in outdoor safe box. I am most likely to be local however if I am away my next door neighbours will be aware of you staying. I will confirm if I will be there before your stay.
Other things to note
Binky my cat is very affectionate and loves his daytime naps. He eats in the morning and evening, no specific times. I will leave food and instructions it is very simple. He has free rein of the house and garden by use of his cat flap. He loves to snuggle up to anyone, it is safe to say he is a spoilt feline so beware he loves being petted! If he becomes a bother feeding him a snack normally settles him especially in the morning!
Please note that being in the countryside , seasonally there is the rutting season, and pheasant shooting etc. be careful when driving or walking down the country lanes, as pheasants, deers, foxes, badgers, rabbits and otters do use our roads as highways too!
Parking in the street is available. The back of the bakery is to the right of the cottage. Please do not park in front of their gates as they need to access it for deliveries.
As guests in a small terraced community we would expect mutual courteous behaviour , I love my home and enjoy it immensely and want you too to enjoy it and to respect it as you would your own home, please leave it clean and tidy and leave it as you found it. Please absolutely NO smoking inside, also please no outdoor shoes on carpeted stairs and ladies no stilettos on the wooden floors .
Three local cats tend to come and say hello to Binky can be found lurking at the back door. They are friendly but skittish so try not to pet them.
There are a couple of nights in the week where the on street parking can be quite busy for an hour or so when there are meetings/clubs on at the Church Rooms opposite. You can park in the pub car park until a space becomes available.
Apart from that please enjoy and have lovely time . I will be happy to help / advise on any queries you have before or during your stay.
