The Boathouse is a waterfront cottage deemed an efficiency as the queen bed is located in the living area along with the kitchen, dinette and sitting area. The outside deck looks right over the beach area where the dock and boats are located. Hodgdon Pond is a fresh water pond on the west side of Mount Desert Island. The pond is only a mile long so there are no noisy power boats to disrupt the peace and quiet. Swimmers enjoy the pond from June to September.

A beautiful, peaceful place to stay. It was a great base camp for exploring Acadia and we loved swimming and kayaking on Hodgdon pond from the house. Would definitely visit again.

Wow! The Boathouse was the perfect base camp for our Acadia adventures. It was just close enough to the park, yet away from all the touristy craziness. What a wonderful view of the pond through the front window! We enjoyed kayaking, swimming and wildlife viewing, including loons, ospreys, a bald eagle and we even spotted a peregrine falcon on our bike ride around the pond! Two thumbs up for the Boathouse!!

This place comes as described - great setting on a pond with wild life (beaver, eagles etc) - kayaks available. The setting is killer if you like nature. It was clean, well equipped, and perfect for two. Only minor issue was spotty internet - there is a phone with nationwide calling. We recommend heartily.

We are so pleased you enjoyed your time on Hodgdon Pond. Apologizes for the spotty internet. Having mountains all around at the Hodgdon Pond location makes it very challenging for dependable internet service for sure. It also makes it the incredible location that it is. Please remember us for future travels.

If you like to have a view on a beautiful quiet lake first thing in the morning, go out in a boat and do not like to be completely secluded in the wild, this place is a great choice. We stayed only 2 nights and biked and hiked around acadia national park during the daytime. (The parkloop road is a great 45 km roadbike tour). If we had had more time, we would have stayed longer and relaxed on the property itself. It is wonderful having dinner and drinking wine on the terrasse of the boat house.

We absolutely loved staying here! Great location, especially for those traveling through Acadia, it took us about 15-20 minutes to get to the Park Loop and Bar Harbor. The boathouse is one of few homes right on a small pond, it was so special to take the boats out on the pond. The interior of the boat house is absolutely beautiful!

Overall really nice little cabin. It was exactly the home base we were looking for to explore Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor. Very gracious hosts and a brand new bathroom! Would definitely recommend to anyone.
