The space
The Lake House is our family's private vacation home which can hosts small groups of families and friends who would like to spend a quiet and relaxing weekend away from the city. We live 300 meters above sea level and breathe in the freshest mountain air from the surrounding forests and from the breeze of the Pacific Ocean only 22 km. away. We are surrounded by lush greenery and tall trees of the Caliraya Watershed which makes for a true nature experience.

Our home has been running entirely on solar power for the past 10 years and it has brought many challenging aspects of sustainable living. We have requested all guests to be extra mindful of their power and water consumption during their stay. We do not allow rice cookers, thermal jugs, hairdryers, curling irons, clothes iron, gaming consoles and any other appliance that will add to our current power output capacity.

Our cabins are situated along hillsides and would require climbing between 50 to 72 garden steps depending on location. All our bedrooms are fan-cooled and not air-conditioned. Daytime and nighttime temperatures are normally 4- 5 degrees cooler than Manila.

Our kitchen is equipped with basic cooking equipment and tools for conventional cooking methods and includes an outdoor area with a large gas grill and brick oven. We have indoor and outdoor dining areas and enough plates, cutlery and glasses for groups of up to 12 persons.

Our lakeside lounge features a spacious area overlooking Lake Caliraya with the imposing Mount Banahaw in the background. The adjacent room has a conference table, white board and smart TV which may be used for meetings. Otherwise, you can watch films on DVD or play card and board games. During very sunny days, this is the only room that may be air-conditioned to allow you some respite from the summer heat usually in March, April and May.

By the lawn is the recreational area where we have a bonfire pit, kayaks, stand up paddle boards, fishing gear, life-vests and other outdoor sports equipment.

Where you’ll be

Cavinti, Calabarzon, Philippines

Lake Caliraya is situated inside a vast natural watershed. The surrounding nature is lush and fertile, and the climate is pleasant with cooler temperatures at night.

A short 10-15 min. boat ride away is an 18-hole golf course, a big water park and a windsurfing and kiteboarding school. A 10 min. walk from the parking area or another 5 mins. by car is a fishing village where children can learn to fish (catch and release) while more experienced anglers can enjoy game fishing.

During your stay

We have wonderful housekeepers to help keep the kitchen, dining and lounge areas clean but they will stay out of your way unless needed. They will need their rest from 7 pm to 6 am so please refrain from disturbing them during these times unless absolutely necessary. If you are unsure about what you may ask them to do, please contact your host directly.

Your host, Simonette, will be available on-site from time to time to ensure that the amenities are complete and the facilities are working properly. If you have any questions during your stay or need help, do not hesitate to call or text them immediately.

We have a resident dog named Beedo who is free to roam around the property and interact with guests. Please consider this when requesting to bring your pets or if anyone in your group is uncomfortable around dogs.
