This lovely apartment, located in historic Charlestown, is in a very quiet residential area of town. Close to everything, we had no trouble exploring the city on foot. We used Uber (approx $15) to get to and from the airport. About the apartment: If you have mobility issues of any sort, this is not the place for you. This unit is located on the 2nd floor (winding staircase, no elevator). It was fine for our family (our kids are 11 and 8), but this could be a problem for other folks. The floors in MonaLisa's place are gorgeous, and she requests that no shoes are to be worn in the unit. I completely understand this rule! She has a place for shoes located just outside the door. The windows in the front room are large and let in lots of light. The kitchen is equipped with all amenities. Food in Boston is pricey, yet we found the Whole Foods nearby (5 min walk) and the new Trader Joe's (short Uber ride away....near the Legoland Discovery Center). We were able to prepare most of our meals in the apt. The bedroom is cozy, and the bed is comfortable! There are also two inflatable air mattress systems available for use (also comfortable). We found the water in the building to be hot and plentiful for bathing and for washing dishes. If you are looking for a quiet place close to everything, then this is the place for you! If we visit Boston again, I would absolutely stay here again. MonaLisa was very responsive to my texts and very accommodating. Great host!

Thank you Betsy, I'm so glad you enjoyed your stay nd made the most use of the location. I appreciate your honest feedback. It definitely helps for future guests. I have used AirBNB several times and it is always nice to know exactly what you're getting in to. I hope that next time you are in town that we have a chance to meet.

It would have been helpful to know that this was a second floor unit with a steep, winding staircase that one needs to climb to get to the unit. This was a deal breaker for us because it was too difficult for my daughter to repeatedly climb this staircase. We both lost money on this transaction and I think it would have been preventable if there was better communication about the unit upfront. Also it would have been helpful to know that the lock was tricky. We didn't actually stay there due to the aforementioned issues but inside the unit looked fine.

Thanks for your feedback Bethany. I believe I had mentioned that it was a second floor unit in my original listing. However I have updated the information on the listing page with more specifics on the apartment.

There is not really good sound insulation, as well as there are steep stairs and not really a place to keep strollers so anyone traveling with small children should be aware of this. Other than that, I can recommend this location to others
