Hosts, Finbarr McCarthy and M Eleanor McGrath are passionate about organic farming. Springfield Farm has been a family farm for over 200 years, with a traditional Loyalist stone home and large dairy barn on the property. In 2014, they purchased the farm so as to raise their family within a strong farming community and participate in the growing "field to table" movement. They have added the Yurt to their farm to share their passion for the farm and provide an opportunity for Eco-tourism, artist retreat and raise awareness of the beauty of Apple Hill and the surrounding Celtic heritage of Stormont Dundas Glengarry and the Mohawk Nation of Akwesasne.

During your stay
Guests are most welcome to walk the farm where there are distinct paths but not into the woods. From Springfield Farm, there are fabulous bike paths, such as a 26km ride to the St. Lawrence Seaway, wilderness walks and to drive local farming communities such as Vankleek Hill home to popular micro-brewery Beau's. As well, community markets are located in Long Sault , Cornwall and Martintown for example, where farmers sell their organic products and dinners can be made available for guests to take home and BBQ.
