A sweet retreat for 2, our renovated Airstream is bright, modern and fully equipped with everything you need to settle in for a day, a weekend, or an extended stay.

Most suitable for 2 guests, the space includes two twin beds and a settee that converts into a large double bed. Kick back and relax in the hammock or enjoy the view from the Airstream’s private deck. We are located close to multiple beaches and hiking trails and about a 30 minute walk from the ferry and Snug Cove.

The space
Welcome to our completely renovated 1975 Trade Wind Airstream.

Our Airstream Island Retreat is nestled between the trees behind our house, halfway up our half acre property, which slopes up and backs onto undeveloped woodland. The private deck faces south and offers a view of Deep Bay beyond our yard and house. You can see the ferry coming and going in the background. We built the deck just above a small grass field, which is perfect for a game of bocce or badminton.

Our Airstream has been a popular guesthouse for family and friends for many years. Now that it has been completely renovated, we look forward to welcoming members of the airbnb community of all walks of life and from all corners of the world.

At 25ft long, the Airstream comes with two super comfortable twin beds and a cozy seating area that converts into a large double bed. The beds are made up with high quality bamboo blend sheets, cozy duvets and downy pillows.
The fully equipped kitchen has an electric cooktop, a microwave, an under-the-counter fridge and a double sink with high quality, filtered, hot and cold drinking water. We’ve stocked the cupboards with dishes, pots, pans, utensils and basic supplies including oil, vinegar, coffee, tea, sugar and some spices. You will also find a small propane BBQ on the deck.

The private bathroom at the far end of the trailer has a sink, a toilet and a small but beautifully tiled shower. The curved shower walls are tiled with unique turquoise river crystals made of 100% recycled glass. Note: We have replaced the blue curtain shown in some of the photos with a unique wooden ships door to separate the bathroom from the living/sleeping area. We supply towels, soap, shampoo and conditioner.

Guest access
The Airstream and the deck in front of it are entirely yours to use for the duration of your stay. You are most welcome to use the grass field in front of your retreat and to relax in the hammock set up between the trees. This space, and the rest of our back yard surrounding the Airstream will be shared with our family and any other guests we entertain during your stay. That said, we also have a yard in front of our house and we tend to spend more of our time there when we have guests staying in the Airstream.

Other things to note
Even though our Airstream can sleep 4, we prefer to host up to two people looking for a quiet retreat.

Please note that we do not have cable TV. The large flatscreen TV connects to your mobile device(s) via chromecast.
With chromecast enabled apps, you can use your mobile device as a remote to cast your favourite TV shows, movies, music, sports, games and more to the screen. This way you can enjoy entertainment on your own accounts via our guest Wifi connection. The screen can be swiveled so that you can watch it from the comfort of any of the beds, or while cozied up on the settee.

Let us know if you will be bringing a vehicle. Parking is available beside our house near the bottom of our property. We share the bottom section of the driveway with our neighbours. Please do not drive up our neighbour’s driveway. Your parking space will be clearly marked in the driveway beside our house on the left as you turn off the road. From there, three short sets of stairs will take you up to your retreat.

We will provide large beach towels on request. Please do not take our bath towels to the beach.

For those who stay longer than a couple of days, our washer and dryer are accessible on request and subject to availability.

Space in the Airstream cupboards is limited.
We will provide a secure space where you can store your empty luggage pieces outside the Airstream during your stay.
As for the kitchen: beyond the basics listed above, please bring all your own foods and supplies to cook the meals you plan to prepare. If you require a utensil or a piece of kitchen equipment that isn’t stocked, please ask us! There’s a good chance we can lend it to you from our own kitchen.

Bowen Island, British Columbia, Canada

Part of the beauty of living on Bowen Island is our physical closeness to nature. Expect to see deer wander through the yard right in front of your deck and to admire eagles soaring overhead. To be sure - the sounds of kids playing (including those of our own teenagers) and neighbours chatting will drift in and out of our backyard, but the natural peace and quiet of our neighbourhood and the dark, starry skies at night are part of why we love where we live. Within that context, please respect our neighbours during your stay. We also recommend you bring a flashlight or two to get around after dark!
