Ardmhor House sits at the edge of Whiting Bay and is at the gateway to the south of the Island.

With secluded open space and stunning views on all sides. Ardmhor House is perfect location for those looking for a quiet getaway.

We are sat at the top of a country track, only one minute walking distance from the sea.

The space

Approx 1 mile from the village. Where there is a news agent, post office cafe and bar.

Built in 1904, this sandstone detached house was originally built as a hunting lodge by the Duke of Hamilton.
It has had many changes over the years such as fever hospital in the 1940's for scarlet fever then a respite home for children with learning difficulties.
This room has a Seaview and is south facing.
Please note we have multiple listing for this house.
There are never more than 3 rooms let at any one time.
Great way of meeting new people from all over the world.

Guest access

Absolutely amazing gem! It is so homely, clean, furnished beautifully, and makes you feel right at home and comfortable. If you are spending a few days in Arran, definitely consider staying here. Our room even had a view of the sea. Adrienne was really prompt and helpful in communication, and she keeps the place really clean-everything smells new and clean too. All of the furnishings and fixtures are new and give you all the modern comforts. It would also be a great place in the winter for storm watching with its cosy fireplace.

Adrienne's place was just perfect for us. A very well-appointed and comfortable room with a lovely sea-view. Adrienne kindly lit the fire for us in the sitting room so we could enjoy a drink before heading out to dinner. We hope to be back! Highly recommended.

Fantastic Victorian style stone building with large garden and picturesque coastal view, even had a pony in the field next door! 5 min walk to Glenashdale Falls trail entrance & 10 min walk into whiting bay village centre, would recommended Coast and Felicity's if looking for a pint and a good meal. Bike cycle away from Kildonan if looking for magnificent beaches and sublime views of Pladda & Ailsa Craig. Adrienne went above and beyond with provisions and information updates before and during our stay. Modern shower and bathroom was a personal highlight of mine. Enjoyable stay overall.
